Shower Curtain Assembly
1. Press one long side of band rect-
4¼ yards light green print for
shower curtain
¾ yard multicolor patchwork print
for valance
¼ yard green print for band
Heavy duty non-woven fusible
interfacing
¾ yard backing fabric
angle ½" toward wrong side.
2. With right sides facing, join va-
lance rectangle and unpressed long
side of band rectangle as shown in
Band Diagram.
Cutting
Measurements include ½" seam
allowances.
Band Diagram
From light green print, cut:
• 2 (74½") lengths. Trim 1 side of
each panel to make 2 (37½" 2 74½")
rectangles.
From multicolor patchwork print,
cut:
• 2 (12½"-wide) strips. Piece strips
to make 1 (12½" 2 74") valance
rectangle.
From green print, cut:
• 2 (3"-wide) strips. Piece strips to
make 1 (3" 2 74") band rectangle.
From interfacing, cut:
• Enough (1½"-wide) strips to
make 1 (1½" 2 71½") strip when
placed end to end.

3. Press seam allowance toward
band. Turn band to wrong side of
valance, covering stitching with
fold of band. Press. Stitch in the
ditch through all layers. Double
hem short ends of valance.
4. Join light green print shower
curtain rectangles lengthwise.
5. Double hem sides and bottom of
shower curtain.
6. Place interfacing strips ½" from
top edge on right side of shower
curtain (Interfacing Placement
Diagram). Fuse in place.

From green print, cut:
• 4 (1¼"-wide) strips. From strips,
cut 2 short scallop strips and 2
long scallop strips.

7. With right side of valance facing

using a scant ½" seam.
8. Turn valance to right side of
shower curtain. Press; top stitch
in place ¼" from edge (Shower
Curtain Diagram).

towel. Band will overlap straight
edges of scallop strips. Fuse in place.
(You only need a temporary fuse.
Because of the loops on the towel,
the strips will not adhere well.)

9. Make 12 evenly spaced vertical
buttonholes through all layers
along top edge of valance to
complete shower curtain.
NOTE: Use a plastic liner under the
shower curtain.
Pattern for Scallop is on page 66.
Trace Scallop pattern 5 times for
short scallop strips. Trace Scallop
pattern 7 times for long scallop strips
(Scallop Diagrams). Apply fusible web
to fabrics before cutting. Follow
1¼"
manufacturer’s instructions for using
fusible web.
