Introduction to Fused Glass
This class is an introduction to working with fused glass,
giving students the opportunity to open up their mind to glass
design and explore their creative side. Lessons will include an
overview of glass characteristics and the kiln, how to cut and
prepare glass for firing and slumping into molds, and projects
to develop your skills. A supply fee of $40 is due to instructor at
the first class and includes Bullseye fusing glass. Additional
glass will be available for purchase in class. A limited number
of cutting/breaking tools will be on loan for student use in
class. Students should bring safety glasses and wear closed
toe shoes. Students can also purchase Bullseye glass and
cutting tools from Carolina Stained Glass on Guess Rd. or
online at Bullseye Glass or Delphi Glass – purchase only 90
COE glass.

Intro to Jewelry Fabrication – Setting Odd
Shaped Stones
A great start for the absolute beginner as well as those who
have taken the Stone Setting class! Use non-ferrous metals
such as copper, brass, and silver to fabricate your own
pendant showcasing a non-flat, odd-shaped stone. A supply
fee of $25-$50 (depending on stone and metal chosen)
payable to the instructor at the start of the class includes
solder, metal, stones and other materials. A limited set of tools
will be available for use in class – students may bring any of
their own tools and supplies to use in class. For additional

Intro to Jewelry Fabrication – Texturing,
Forming, Riveting (Cold Connection)
This course will focus on the essential jewelry techniques that
do not require soldering and is a great place to start for the
absolute beginner metalsmith. Using non-ferrous metals such
as brass and copper, we will make earrings and pendants. You
will learn to anneal metal, saw, file, form and texture metal,
cold connect components (rivet) and more. A materials fee
of $15 is payable to the instructor at class time (additional
materials will be available for purchase in class). A limited
set of tools will be available for use in class. For additional

Have a growing collection of lampworked glass beads and need
inspiration on how to use them? Incorporate various materials
(copper, leather, rubber cording) to make earrings, pendants
and bracelets. We’ll make bead caps and closures and learn
disc cutting, doming/forming, texturing, wire wrapping, leather
knotting and much more. A $15 supply fee payable to the
instructor on the first night covers a kit of leather, rubber cording,
copper sheet and wire. Bring your own lampworked glass beads
or the instructor will have sets available for purchase. A limited
set of tools will be available for use in class – students may bring
any of their own tools and supplies to use in class. For additional

Textured Rings
This course series will focus on the essential jewelry techniques

more. In this class, we will fabricate stamped and textured rings

Beginning Glass Bead Making
Are you fascinated with handmade glass beads? Have you ever
wondered just how they are made? This 5-hour Workshop will
introduce you to the exciting world of Lampworking. Students
will use Effetre (soft glass) rods and learn how to make basic
beads and designs. You will learn about safety, melting
glass, using different tools to shape your beads, and simple
techniques to decorate them. At the end of this class, you can
expect to have made a handful of beads that you can use to
make a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. A $20 materials
fee is due to the instructor at each workshop. This class will
include a 30 minute lunch break.
Metal Etching
Etching is a process that uses nitric acid to remove areas of
metal from the surface of a piece. You can either use sharpie
to free hand draw your design or you can use PNP blue paper to
pursue the exact details from the images that your print from the
computer. You can create depth and detailed textures into your
jewelry design! A materials fee of $30 is payable to the instructor
at workshop. Please check DAC website for additional supply list.

Fiber Arts
Fiber Arts 101- Creativity and
Collaboration
Bring your fiber and come play with fiber artist Willa Brigham
in this fun and collaborative class. Designed for those who
have too much stuff and not enough buddies to create with
you will design simple projects and entertaining crafts using
recycled fabric, left over embellishments and fabulous
knickknacks. Using your creative imagination and gathered
resources we will create magnificent works of art. One item
per week, fabric has never looked so artsy. Use what you
have, no need to buy anything. We will trade, exchange and
barter with each other to create your original works of fiber
art. $15 per workshop or $70 for all 5 workshops. Take one
workshop or take them all!

Chainmaille Jewelry Introductory Workshop
(Ages 12 and up)
Put the shiny in your wardrobe as you learn the art of weaving your
own chainmaille jewelry. Based upon classic chainmaille patterns
used historically as armor, we will make jewelry pieces that are
lightweight, wearable and colorful. Made from super shiny anodized
aluminum jump rings in a rainbow of colors, this introductory
workshop will teach you 2 different weaves that can be applied to
a variety of jewelry. You’ll leave this introductory workshop with a
pair of earrings and a bracelet to show off your newfound skills.
A materials cost of $6 is due to instructor at first class meeting.

Learn the art of weaving your own chainmaille jewelry. Based
upon classic chainmaille patterns used historically as armor,
we will make jewelry pieces that are lightweight, wearable and
colorful. Each session will focus on a different weave (such
as Byzantine, Full Persian, Mobius and European 4 in 1) and
how to fashion that weave into necklaces, bracelets, earrings
and other wearable jewelry. We’ll use anodized aluminum jump
rings, available in a rainbow of color options for you to choose.
Students should expect to leave the class with over a dozen
finished pieces of jewelry and probably a newfound addiction!
A materials cost of $40 is due to instructor at first class
