Asymmetrical lines
Shirring
Rouching
Leggings
Jeggings
Fauxfur
- Asymmetrical lines in
tops, jackets & skirts can
easily fool the eye. An
asymmetrical hem solves
many alteration problems. The line gives you
“permission” to have an
uneven hem.
- Shirring & rouching
styles are a great compliment to a woman‟s midriff. At first glance ladies
say, “not on my muffin
midriff”. After trying on
they are amazed at their
slimmer looking silhouette.
- Leggings are pull on
knit pants that hug the
leg. They are perfect for
the lady with a flat backside and slim legs. Fingertip length tops and
sweaters are very becoming worn with leggings. If you have trouble
fitting pants in the back
of your thigh because
they are baggy, you are a
perfect candidate for leggings . . . No matter what
your age.
- Jeggings are knit fabric
in denim colors to look like
jeans. They often are a
beefy fabric and fit like
leggings. Again, fingertip
length tops or longer are
great with jeggings.
- Faux fur vests, jackets
and coats provide updated
fashion with practicality.
Lots of different textures
and prints go from dressy
to funky casual. It‟s a fun
way to update existing
wardrobe pieces. Faux fur
softens you facial features
(including wrinkles).
Keep Your Options Open
When you need clothes for a
special event, you can get very
frustrated if you have something specific in mind.
mean shopping frustration and
failure. Even looking for an exact
color can be impossible to find.
We‟re here to help!
The least stressful way to
shop is to see what „s available
first. Then move on and decide
what will best fit your needs.
As in life, shopping for clothes
is all about compromise. When
you keep your options open success will come much easier.
Preconceived ideas can often
Accept the fact that styles
change. After trying them on you
often are pleasantly surprised
how flattering they can be.
When you go shopping try on
something that is slightly more
out of your comfort zone. It‟s a
good way to keep your closet
more current.

In Living Color
The neutrals of black, brown
and gray are very strong this
season in both tops and pants.
To give personality to the neutrals we like to pop them with
the COLORS of Fall 2010.
A fun smattering of purple is
showing up mostly in scarves
and accessories. It‟s a soft but
not pastel shade of purple that
is very pleasing with black and
gray neutrals.
The warm yellows, oranges,
greens and ivory are fall favorites. For a broader variety
we‟ve added the many shades
of pink, turquoise and a bit of
medium blue.
Compliments will come your
way when you pair unpredictable color combinations. Experiment with colors you like by
laying out several pieces on the
bed (including accessories).
Stand
back
and
take a
look.
You just might discover a new
combination.
Along with your neutral pieces
look in the mirror to find 3 or 4
COLORS that give your face the
kind of glow of candlelight. Use
them to “pop” the neutrals.
Q&A
Question: Are animal prints still in style?
Answer: Animal prints have become a fashion staple. A piece or two can add zip to your wardrobe.
Question: How do I wear a scarf?
Answer: Don‟t be intimidated by a scarf. Keep it
simple. A simple wrap around your neck works
well. Texture and length play a role in how you
wear it. Stop by the store and we‟ll be happy to
give you a crash course. Also, we have an instruction sheet on scarves to give you.
Question: Am I to short to wear the longer tops and
cardigans?
Answer: It‟s all about proportion and color. When
wearing a longer jacket or cardigan, make one of
the top pieces the same color as your pants; i.e.
black pants and layering pieces worn with a contrasting color in a longer cardigan or vest. Looking
in the mirror you‟ll see a nice vertical line. Also, a
longer necklace and longer earrings s-t-r-e-t-c-h
your visual illusion.
I get compliments when I wear the longer tops and
I‟m 4‟11”. It‟s an illusion. Try it on!
Holiday Gift Ideas
How can we forget the winter of 2009? It taught us
to get that holiday shopping done MUCH earlier this
year. Besides, when you shop early your selection is
much nicer.
Gift Ideas:
Glittens (not a typo) - Glittens are leather mittens
with fingers inside. The insulated lining keeps your
hands warm. The “fingers” inside give you more
control when driving. Sized S—XL they are reasonably
priced for gift giving. Get them early!
Luggage Tags - For the traveler on your list you‟ll
want this thoughtful gift. They are bronze leather to
coordinate with any suitcase but are spotted easily
on the airport carousel.
Scarves - A woman can never have too many
scarves. Both fashion and function describe the
scarf selection at SHELDON‟S.
Beautiful colors, textures and weaves make these
scarves a conversation piece.
We thank you for enjoying our store.

Designer Profile
Teresa Goodall
Raised in rural Minnesota, Teresa is a self taught
jewelry designer. Her parents encouraged her
creative interests from an early age. Teresa’s father had vast acres of salvaged cars. She would go
through the old cars looking for treasures to be
used in her jewelry creations.
Formal training at the University of Minnesota’s
design department was cut short by her desire to
go into business for herself.
Teresa’s stone wear beads in organic shapes and
colors are individually hand sculptured from clay.
Her beads are known for the soft hues that are the
fruition of this process.
Using color combinations found in nature, Teresa
creates accessories that work with the casual soft
dressing of today.
----------------------As a buyer, I look forward each season to see the
Teresa Goodall line. In my opinion she epitomizes
a true creative artist because her talent for fresh
ideas never disappoints. Her fascinating color combinations enhance our clothing selections year
round.
She also has a great sales team. As a longtime
customer I appreciate that knowledgeable customer service, too.

Jeans
What American Women Wear Most!
82% of all women wear jeans. Over half of these
women say jeans are their unofficial leisure
uniform. . .regardless of their age.
Fitting jeans is almost as personal as fitting your
bra. Not Your Daughters Jeans (NYDJ) now make
a skinny leg jean. You’ll especially love them if
you have a flat backside and thin legs. No more
“baggy” in the back of your thighs. Available in
ankle & longer lengths, they’re the answer to your
fit problems. We are working on our third reordering of the skinny jeans, so we know they fit. Our
ladies LOVE them!
NYDJ will look like new for a long time with proper
care. Machine wash cold water, inside out, no
Woolite or fabric softener, then hang to dry.
(absolutely NO dryer).
Your favorite jeans will be NYDJ because now
there’s a style to fit every figure. Trying is
believing!
ENGLISH/ESPANOL/FRENCH
Are you often confused by the size tags on garments? It’s not just you. It’s a global problem.
A bit of FYI might help.
S/P = small. The “P” is not petite. The “P” means
small in Spanish or French.
M/M
= medium. “M” is the universal symbol for
medium.
L/G
= large. “G” means “grande” in Spanish.
XL/XL
P+
= extra large. A universal symbol for
extra large.
= petite. That was easy!
O/S = one size fits “most”.
