Scion iQ-EV Temporary Guide Unplugging the Car: 1. Push the trigger on top of the charging connector grip to unplug the charging cable. 2. Pull the charging connector towards you while pressing the latch release button. If the charging connector is disconnected during the charging (while the charging indicator is on), charging will be interrupted. 3. Return the charging cable connector to the charging station. DO NOT leave the connector unholstered. 4. Close the inner cap on the car where the charging connector was inserted. 5. Close the outer charge port door. Starting the Car: 1. Did you unplug? If not, see “Unplugging the Car”. 2. Check that the parking brake is set. 3. Check that the shift lever is set in P. 4. Firmly depress the brake pedal. The power switch indicator will turn green. If the indicator does not turn green, the car cannot be started. 5. Press the power switch. The vehicle can move when the “Ready” indicator is on. Continue depressing the brake pedal until the car is completely started. 6. Check that the “Ready” indicator is on. (The vehicle will only move when the “Ready” indicator is on.) 7. To drive release the parking brake and move the shift lever to Reverse or Drive. Parking the Car: 1. Depress the brake pedal until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. 2. Set the parking brake. 3. Shift the lever to P. 4. Press the power switch to turn off the car. 5. Slowly release the brake pedal. Make sure indicator on the power switch is off. How to Charge: 1. Press the charging station button on the center console to open the charge port door. The door will not open when the “Ready” indicator or the power switch are on. 2. Grab the ChargePoint point card located in the visor pack on the driver’s side. 3. Hold the ChargePoint card over the ChargePoint icon on the charging station to activate. The Display will say “Authorizing.” 4. The charging station will unlock the charging connector with an audible click. Remove the charging connector from the holster. 5. Open the inner charging cap (the charge port door will already be open). 6. Insert the charging connector into the inlet. When inserting, make sure you do not press the latch release button. Line up the guides, and then push in the connector until a CLICK is heard. 7. Confirm that the charging indicator located on top of the dashboard is illuminated. (You will be able to see it through the windshield.) Charging will not start if the charging indicator does not illuminate when the charging connector is inserted. The station display will say “Charging.” The amount of time it takes to recharge can be checked on the multi-information display by turning the power switch to ON mode. The charging indicator will turn off when the charging is completed. Welcome to the All-Electric Scion iQ-EV City CarShare and Toyota North America are partnering to bring Scion iQ-EVs to the carsharing market. As part of this program, Toyota has provided a fleet of all-electric Scion iQ EVs to City CarShare. Please note that the Scion iQ-EV has a limited range estimated to be 35-45 miles depending on driving conditions. Please pay extra attention to the battery level and estimated range prior to departure and during your trip. Below are some Special Rules that Toyota is requiring of City CarShare members when operating these vehicles. Special Rules for Use of the City CarShare Scion iQ-EV In addition to any requirements under the City CarShare Member Handbook and other terms and conditions, each driver of a City CarShare Scion iQ-EV agrees to each of the following terms as a condition to being permitted to reserve and use the Scion iQ EV: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The Scion iQ-EV shall only be operated within the continental United States. The Scion iQ-EV shall be operated in accordance with additional training and safety instructions provided by City CarShare, including any instructions found in the vehicle &/or website/mobile site vehicle guide, including instructions to fuel and recharge the vehicle. The Scion iQ EV should not be towed. Always contact City CarShare prior to moving the Scion iQ-EV using any method other than its own power. Do not attempt to modify the Scion iQ-EV in any way. Do not dismantle, disassembled or reverse engineer the Scion iQ-EV, or any portion of the Scion iQ-EV. The Scion iQ-EVs shall not be used in any race or competitive event, for hire or as a public conveyance (e.g. taxi), or to pull trailers, or off established roadways, or for any illegal purpose or use. No smoking or un-caged pets are allowed in the Scion iQEV (unless the animal is a service animal). The Scion iQ EV may have features permitting information/data to be wirelessly and remotely obtained (e.g., mileage, fuel economy, number of miles traveled in electric mode, acceleration and braking pattern, battery performance, charging information, and location). You agree to the gathering, transmission and use of such information/data, and that all such information/data is owned exclusively by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. or its designees. If you intend to make any public statements regarding the Scion iQ-EV: (a) only make statements that reflect your honest opinion based upon actual use of the vehicle; and (b) prominently indicate that: (i) the statements are yours, and not City 8. 9. CarShare’s or Toyota’s, and may not be representative of all users’ experiences; and (ii) City CarShare and / or Toyota does not warrant the accuracy, completeness or applicability of information. Information associated with your use of the Scion iQ-EVs may be shared with the title owner of the Scion iQ-EVs, which may not be an affiliate of City CarShare. Each driver of the Scion iQ-EV shall not have more than two (2) moving violations in the three years preceding the date of the scheduled pick-up date of the Scion iQ-EV, and no serious violations at all (e.g., no driving while under the influence, reckless driving, etc.).
