Uses Melrose Organic Lemon Myrtle scented Castile Soap is a traditional liquid soap with the uplifting and wonderful antibacterial properties of Lemon Myrtle. In earlier centuries, an all‐vegetable based soap was made in the Castile region of Spain from local olive oil. By the turn of this century, "Castile" had come to mean any vegetable oil‐based soap, versus animal (tallow) fat‐based soap. Melrose Castile Soaps are a pure and simple liquid soap, not a complex blend of detergents. Many commercial blends are labelled as "Liquid Soap" even when they contain absolutely no soap whatsoever. Melrose Castile Soaps do not contain any synthetic foaming agents or detergents You may notice that some batches of Melrose Castile Soap are darker than others. The reason for this is that we use unrefined organic oils; they are not bleached, and therefore can vary in colour. Some vegetable oils also contain a small percentage of waxes, lecithin and other matter that do not dissolve in the reaction to make soap. This may make the soap appear cloudy. Some ways to use our soaps are: For everyday body‐washing: Pour several drops of undiluted soap onto wet hands, washcloth or loofah, clean all over for the freshest, cleanest feeling possible. For Cleaning : Dilute one part soap into 40 parts water for light cleaning. Use it undiluted for heavy‐
duty grease‐cutting jobs. For laundry: Use 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup for one regular load; adjust as needed depending on the hardness of your water. Adding a dash of baking soda makes it even better. If you get some Melrose Castile Soap in your eyes, it can sting. Flush with ample clean water, the stinging effect is temporary.
