Saint-Omer ...
A GOOD PLACE TO INVEST IN
The Saint Omer region caters well for the needs
of businesses. As many as six business parks
have been set up in the last six years in this prime
location less than 2 hours from London, a stone’s
throw from Belgium, just over 2 hours from Paris
and 50 minutes from Lille. Saint Omer encourages
partnerships with British and Flemish counterparts,
who particularly appreciate this collaborative
dynamic, both in terms of the economy, housing
and local heritage.
A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE IN
A GOOD PLACE TO DREAM IN
Saint Omer pulls out all the stops to develop the
most ambitious projects. Whether they concern
an island in the heart of the marshes, or one of
our many castles, original concepts to encourage
tourism are high on the agenda of development
projects.
Saint Omer and the surrounding region, known as
the Audomarois, has a lot to offer. Heritage and
history combine in a stunning environment that
forms the backdrop to a lively and varied cultural
and sports scene.
The local calendar is punctuated by
some key events such as the Jaaz Festival which is
renowned all over France.
So what are you waiting for…
Come and see for yourself in Saint Omer !

WORK
Saint-Omer provides everything you need for a
pleasant work environment.
There are a number of properties available for
tertiary sector businesses and start-ups, especially
in digital technologies with the railway station
regeneration project.
LIVE
Support is available for urban development projects,
whether for new builds or the regeneration of historic
buildings.
MEET PEOPLE
Particular attention is given to creating attractive
meeting places. Saint-Omer boasts some fine
examples of Flemish architecture, so typical of the
northern French and southern Belgian towns.
OUR PARTNERS
Atelier Jacqueline Osty and Associates,
with which we are working on the renovation
of Saint-Omer’s three market squares.
The aim is to:
- Continue to improve the quality of our everyday lives,
- Provide a venue for major cultural events (such as
the Saint-Omer Jaaz Festival),
- Put Saint-Omer on the map as a centre for urban
development and town centre shopping.
NEW BUSINESS
The highlight of 2016 will be the new eco-digital
technology and services centre, which has been
designed to offer business people on the move or
the self-employed a pleasant workspace with all the
necessary services.
2016. Saint-Omer is looking for two adminstrators:
one to manage the co-working area and the other
to manage the childcare facilities. These services
will be located in a pleasant, ergonomic building,
centrally located.
PLAY
Hidden inside the town hall, Saint-Omer’s Italianate
theatre will be reopening in spring 2018 after some
major renovation work. We invite you to a special
preview of the work in progress.
Saint-Omer is
working to improve the living
conditions of the local population
and visitors to the region.

THE CANTON DE FAUQUEMBERGUES DISTRICT COUNCIL
approved the local urban development plan in 2014.
Considered to be one of France’s most forward-looking and determined plans,
we have proposed here three development sites out of the seventeen planned
for the next fifteen years.
There will be no less than 850 new homes built in the next 15 years !
The programme sets out to meet four challenges :
> Reconsider planning schemes with a view to shortening distances
(optimized services, structured and compact urban development),
> Develop realistic alternatives to private car use,
> Diversify the type of housing available on the market
and ensure easy access to the housing ladder in the community,
> Promote the quality of life associated with rural living.
