What is CoolSculptinG®?
CoolSculpting® is an exciting new non-invasive fat
freezing Cryolipolysis® treatment that reduces stubborn
areas of fat permanently and safely.
CoolSculpting® was developed by Harvard scientists who
discovered extreme cold can be applied to the skin to
non-invasively reduce fat and sculpt the body.
How does it work?
CoolSculpting® reduces areas stubborn fat that don’t
respond to diet and exercise by up to 40%. These include
love handles, muffin tops, flabby thighs, back fat and
man-boobs.
CoolSculpting® destroys fat cells by freezing them in
a process called Cryolipolysis®. The dead fat cells are
naturally excreted by the body as waste and over the
next 2-3 months the treated area takes on a more
sculpted, slimmer shape.
The CoolSculpting® machine comes with several
different sized heads that re-contour the most common
fat-prone areas including the stomach, flanks and thighs.
The correct head is applied to the area. The fat is gently
drawn into the head creating a vacuum and cooled to a
temperature that permanently destroys the fat cells.
The fat has to be soft and pinchable to be fully drawn
into the head of the CoolSculpting® machine where it
is cooled for an hour. Afterwards it feels solid. This is the
all-important ‘butter-stick’ which shows how much fat
has been frozen. The butter stick is massaged for 10
minutes until it lies flat and resumes a normal texture.
Many of us have bulges of stubborn fat.
Those unwanted bulges contain fat cels,
which can be resistant to diet and exercise
CoolSculpting® uses controlled cooling to
target and crystallize fat cells.
Crystallized fat cells gradually die, and are
naturally eliminated from your body.
In the weeks and months following
treatment, the remaining fat cells
condense, reducing the fat layer.
CoolSculpting® lets you say goodbye to
stubborn fat, without surgery.
Does it hurt?
The treatment itself is not painful however you may
experience a feeling of pressure as the fat has to remain
in the head for an hour in order to fully freeze. The
treated area may feel bruised and tender for up to
two weeks post treatment.

It takes three weeks for the fat cells to shrink and die.
During the following weeks they are metabolised and
excreted by the body as waste. Clinical studies show the
fat does not remain in the body and cholesterol levels
do not increase.
Will CoolSculpting® work for me?
If you are within two stone of your ideal body weight
with pockets of pinchable soft fat on the abdomen, flanks,
back, upper arms or inner thighs then CoolSculpting® is
an ideal treatment.
How many treatments do I need?
This depends on the amount of unwanted fat and the
number of areas to be treated. One treatment delivers
a reduction in fat of up to 25%. Two treatments on the
same area deliver a reduction in fat of up to 40%.

How long do the results last?
CoolSculpting® destroys fat cells permanently so as
long as you maintain your weight with normal diet and
exercise the long-term results should remain stable.
