of Middlebury, as managing director. Lee E. Bouyea has joined the
firm as an associate. Davis grew up
in Burlington and graduated from
the University of Vermont and
Harvard University. He has 20
years experience managing manufacturing companies and providing
exits for shareholders. Bouyea’s
family has owned and operated
Bouyea-Fassetts Bakery in Burlington for three generations. Bouyea
graduated from Colgate University
and Tuck School of Business at
Dartmouth. He has worked for
eBay, Nextel Communications and
Ebates.com
Mary E. Haas, first vice president
of Merrill Lynch in Burlington, and
Larry Veladota, retired vice president of Champlain College, have
been elected to the board of trustees of Burlington College.
Thomas J. Ruescher, DMD, of Timberlane Dental Group, has completed the board certification process in pediatric dentistry.
Ruescher is a diplomat of the
American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow member of the
American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry.
Carolyn Weaver has joined the Geri

Hickok & Boardman Realty as a
new construction specialist.
Erin Pond of the Merchants Bank
College Street branch in Burlington has received the November
Outstanding Customer Service
Award from the Burlington Business Association and Church
Street Marketplace. The member
of the month award for November
was presented to Chris Cole, general manager of Chittenden
County Transportation Authority,
and recognizes the alternative
transportation service with commuter express service and shuttles
to downtown.
Jaroslava Martinek and Carol Stenberg have joined Freeman French
Freeman Inc, the Burlington architecture firm. Martinek graduated
from Technical University in the
Czech Republic and has more than
20 years of architectural experience. Stenberg attended Boston
Architectural Center and has 15
years of experience.
John Mangione of Williston is
working with Knowledgewave
Training in South Burlington as an
application developer and technical instructor. Mangione has 13
years experience in the training
industry and networking, active
directory, database design, Microsoft exchange and Access.
Donna Polk has been hired by
Champlain Valley Area Health Education Center in St. Albans as a
financial coordinator. Polk was office manager and bookkeeper at
Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department.
Kristin Leach Wildman, senior accountant at Grippin, Donlan &
Roche PLC in South Burlington,
has been designated a CPA Ambassador by the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants.
Karen Mills, senior accountant

Donna Carpenter, co-founder of
Burton Snowboards, was named
Vermont’s 2005 Philanthropist of
the Year by the Northern New
England Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Carpenter was nominated by the

Public Radio and Stowe Education
Foundation.
Rob Johnson of Re/Max North Professionals of Colchester completed the real estate investment
course, “Creating Wealth through
Residential Real Estate Investments” conducted by the council
of residential specialists of the
National Association of Realtors.
Kathy and Thom Laidman, owners
of Hair Forte in South Burlington,
completed the leadership training
requirements in a week-long
course of the Summit Salon Business College and became members
of The Summit Salon Network.
Timothy White has been hired as
director of technical services at
Vermont Panurgy Corp. in South
Burlington. White has 10 years of
experience and has been senior
technical instructor, teaching Microsoft and CompTIA technical
classes and computer forensics
and desktop application classes.

agents at Century 21 Advantage
of South Burlington, have been
named top producers for the
month of October.

completed a 2-day certified residential specialist course on business planning and marketing for

Susan Krupp has been named realtor of the month for October at
Coldwell Banker Choice Properties in St. Albans.
Shelli Guay, media director and finance manager for PostScript Inc.
of Burlington, has joined the
March of Dimes Communications
Committee. Guay will provide
hands-on expertise and access to
decision-makers within the community and participate in the
chapter’s priority activities. Guay’s
family serves as a mission family,
which includes fundraising for
events, educating the public about
prematurity and serving as an advocate for the organization.
Sheila Tourangeau has joined The
Brain Injury Association of Vermont as information referral specialist. She is a graduate of Burlington College and worked for
the Vermont Agency of Human
Services and as a direct service
volunteer for a crisis hotline.
Billy Burns, traffic foreman for the
City of Burlington; Dan Hill, street
foreman; Claude Raineault, acting
fleet maintenance manager; and
Jim Ritchie, water distribution
foreman for the city, completed requirements of the management
academy sponsored by the Ver-
mont Local Roads Program at St.
Michael’s College in Colchester.
They were required to demonstrate management skills and develop a policy or program for use
in their workplace. Craig Plumb,
highway superintendent of the city
of South Burlington, completed the
same course.
Peter Baker has been appointed
chief executive officer by the
board of directors of Vermont Pure
Holdings Limited of Williston.
Baker has been president and a director of the company since October 2000 when the company
merged with Crystal Rock. He was
previously with Crystal Rock from
1977 until the merger.
Lang Associates of South Burlington has named the following top
six associates for October: Carol

Trombley and Carol Hinkel, South
Burlington office; Cheryl Boissoneault, St. Albans office; and

Vermont Supreme Court Justice
Denise R. Johnson attended the
national conference on appellate
justice in Washington. The conference brings together lawyers,
judges, academics and court administrators to explore the challenges and opportunities that face
the appellate courts.
Karen Richardson-Nassif of Colchester, research associate professor of family medicine at UVM College of Medicine, received the
Vermont Women in Higher Education Jackie M. Gribbons Leadership Award. The award is presented to a woman in higher
education who has demonstrated
leadership ability, served as a
model and mentor, developed innovative programs and contributed significantly to the institution
and profession. Gribbons has
served as practicum coordinator
for the college’s higher education
student affairs program since 1970.
Marilyn Rinker, director of the
nursing program at Norwich University in Northfield, has been
named 2005 Nurse of the Year by
the Vermont Nurses Association.
Rinker has been director of the
program for six years.
The Pet Lodge has opened at 260
Avenue D, Suite 10, off Industrial
Avenue in Williston. The
17,000-square-foot facility has indoor and outdoor exercise areas,
boarding rooms and webcams
where owners can log in from anywhere in the world and check in on
their dog or cat. The company is
owned by Tom Brown, a thirdgeneration vet who has 12 years experience operating a boarding facility and animal hospital.
HRSentry, LLC has moved to 354
Mountain View Drive in Colchester. The company is an online human resources information site designed to help small businesses
manage their day to day human resources administration.
Burke Mountain Ski Area has a restaurant, the Tamarack Grill, opening in its Sherburne Base Lodge in
East Burke. The restaurant is a
modern American bistro featuring
regional cuisine.
Addison County Solid Waste Management District in Middlebury
has been awarded the silver excellence in solid waste management
award by the Solid Waste Association of North America.
Verde Group, a creative production
company in Burlington, won two
silver awards in the International
Davey Awards 2005. The awards
were for “VSP Recruitment Film”
for the Vermont State Police on
the life’s work of law enforcement
careers with the Vermont State Police, and for “Dinner Party” for
Perrywinkles, which features a
woman talking about her man, her
‘Perrywinkle Man,’ the love of her
life and the diamonds.
