Course Description
Learn how to design precast concrete components through this short course. It covers the design methods of both
framed and wall systems, the connections, production and installation methods. Design approach will also be shown
through various software solutions. IBS03 certificate by CIDB will be given to all participants.

This short course is intended for engineers (from government departments, developers, consultants, contractors &
manufacturers), academicians, researchers and students; both as a fundamental precast concrete design course for
newcomers as well as a refresher training for the experts.
Facilitator
Assoc Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Baharuddin is a well-known expert in IBS and has been providing professional precast
concrete design lectures since 2003. Attached with the Civil Engineering Faculty of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, he is
actively involved in various committees, researches as well as providing consultancy services in the fields of precast
concrete and steel structures.
