How to use the Brake Wear Gauge Spreadsheet
The Brake Wear Gauge Spreadsheet consists of three main parts:

Select the appropriate truck model from the drop-down box at the top of the page.
Print the page.
Measure the brake wear on the truck.
Note the truck hours at which the wear measurements were taken.
Complete the fields shown below.
The Worksheet covers all four brakes on the truck.

Brake Wear Gauge Measurement Log
There are four Measurement Logs - one to suit each brake on the truck. Ensure that each log is
filled-in as is appropriate.

Enter the hours at which the brake group was fitted to the truck. This field only needs to
be entered on the first log (for Position 1 wheelend).
Enter the minesite truck number. This field only needs to be entered on the first log (for
Position 1 wheelend).
Enter the truck hours and brake wear measurements, from each completed Worksheet.

Note that there are two warnings that may be shown in the Measurement Log:
W1 - Shown if the amount of brake wear remaining is less than 20%.
W2 - Shown if the amount of brake wear remaining increases from the previous measurement.
If this reversal in brake wear is seen, it may indicate the possibility of warped brake plates.
Further investigation may be required.
