Moderator: Nathalie Dupree is the Author of eleven cookbooks
about the American South, entertaining and basic cooking. She has
hosted over 300 television shows on the Food Network, The Learning
Channel and PBS. She has been a spokesperson for Wild American
Shrimp, The Catfish Institute and many other organizations. She
currently writes for The Post And Courier in Charleston, SC, as well
as Charleston Magazine and other publications. She has been featured
in numerous television shows and publications, from Bobby Flay, the
Today Show and Good Morning America to Redbook, Good
Housekeeping, Bon Appetit, the New York Times, The Washington
Post and others. She is married and lives in Charleston, S.C. with her
husband, Jack Bass. Please welcome Natalie Dupree!

Moderator: Todd Kliman, Washingtonian - Todd Kliman is Food and Wine
Editor of The Washingtonian and also the magazine's food critic. He was
previously the food columnist for The Washington City Paper, where he
won a prestigious James Beard Foundation Award in 2005 for the country's
best newspaper column.
His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's, National
Geographic Traveler, The Washington Post Magazine, and The Oxford
American, among others, and spans a gamut of subjects -- from punk rock to
corporate thuggery, from media barons to young gang members

o Hugh Acheson is the chef/partner of Five & Ten, the
National, Gosford Wine located in Athens, GA and Empire
State South in Atlanta, GA.
• Ken Vedrinski
o Executive chef, owner and sommelier of Trattoria Lucca,
his restaurant in downtown Charleston located on Bogard
Street. Lucca was quickly hailed as “Charleston’s Best
New Restaurant” by Charleston City Paper in 2008 and
was a semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant” in the 2009
James Beard Awards.
• George Mendes
o Owner of ALDEA restaurant in New York; In its debut
year, ALDEA was named one of the ten best restaurants to
open nationwide by Alan Richman of GQ magazine and
was ranked third among the ten best new New York
restaurants by Bloomberg restaurant critic Ryan Sutton.

Moderator: Izabela Wojcik, She is currently the Director of House
Programming for the James Beard Foundation, where she oversees a diverse
program of 250 special events held at the historic James Beard House

o Matt +Ted Lee grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and
in 1994 founded the Lee Bros. Boiled Peanuts Catalogue.
Their first cookbook, The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook,

Beard Foundation Award for “Cookbook of the Year.”
Their New Cook Book is called Simple Fresh Southern.
• Joe Yonan
o Is the author of Serve Yourself: Nightly Adventures in
Cooking for One. He’s the Food and Travel editor for The
Washington Post, where he writes regular features,
including the monthly “Cooking for One” column that
inspired his current book.
• John T. Edge
o Writes a monthly column, “United Tastes,” for the New
York Times. He is a contributing editor at Garden & Gun.
He is a longtime columnist for the Oxford American. He
was a contributing editor at Gourmet.

Moderator: Charlotte Voisey Company Mixologist with William Grant &
Sons, was recognized by the James Beard Foundation in 2009 for her
contributions to mixology. Charlotte's unique cocktails can be found on
menus across the world. Recent consulting projects include the Mandarin
Oriental, Las Vegas, FIG and Fairmont, Santa Monica, The Dorchester Hotel
in London, Kenmare, Cienfuegos and the Gramercy Park Hotel in
Manhattan and most recently the W Hotels Downtown NY and Austin.
Charlotte is a regular on TV, notably CBS' The Early Show, Fox & Friends
and the current series of Top Chef Masters 2010 and The Next Iron Chef

Moderator: Lynn Seldon is a Virginia-based freelance travel writer and

The new editions of two of his books, Country Roads of Virginia and 52

Foodways Alliance Guardian of Tradition Award and won
the 2008 Great American Seafood Cook-off in New
Orleans.
o In 2009, he was awarded the James Beard Foundation

Food and Wine Festival’s Iron Chef Challenge.
o He is a contributing editor for Garden and Gun magazine
and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys bird hunting of all

Garden Network, a funding organization for educational
gardens serving youth in Sonoma County, California in
2004 while developing and working with educational
gardens from 1999 – 2006.
