Maharaja Manindra Chandra College Admission guidelines for the session 2014-15 1 . The Admission process for the session 2014-15 in different undergraduate courses of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College, Kolkata will start on and from 10th June, 2014. How to Apply a) Use Google chrome or Mozila firefox or Safari and type the web address mmccollege.co.in OR mmc.demoits.co.in b) Go to the link mmc.demoits.co.in and click on “Online Application for Honours/General Applicant 2014-2015” c) The Form appears showing various fields which are to be filled up online. d) Do not leave any field blank. e) Give the correct information as asked for filling up each field. f) Click on the next button for filling up the next page. g) In the table for marks do not leave any blank field. Type 0, if there are no practical marks. h) For “WBSCVET-Humanities Division” & “WBSCVET-Business & Commerce” Board; Subject has to be typed manually by the applicant. i) Click CALCULATE, correct or fill up the infield/incorrect fields if indicates. j) Click submit button after completion or filling up the form. k) Correct or fill up the unfilled/incorrect fields if indicates. l) Again click SUBMIT button after correction. m) Then the computer will show you the cash challan of Central Bank of India and your filled in application form. n) Then take the print out of those Challan and form. o) Keep the print out of the application form with you which will be submitted at the time of counseling if you are called for. p) Go to any CBS branch of Central Bank of India with the challan and deposit Rs 120/- into the Bank. q) Keep the candidate’s copy of challan with you safely which will be produced at the time of counseling if you are called for. r) Your application process will be completed as and when you deposit the application fee of Rs 120/- into the specific Bank. N.B: Your application will be activated by our service provider only after you deposit the said application fee. Unless and until you deposit the fee your application will not activated or valid. Last date of depositing admission fee: 21.06.14 2. Documents required at the time of counseling and admission I. II. III. IV. V. VI. 3. Original Mark Sheet (H.S./Equivalent Examination). Original Admit Card (Madhyamik/ equivalent exam. for age proof). Certificate from the school last attended in case of students of other states. Three copies of unattested Passport size photograph (EXTRA) Original cast certificate (where necessary). Original Migration Certificate (where necessary) Important Dates: I. The ONLINE FILLING UP of APPLICATION FORM, GENERATION of CHALLAN and DEPOSIT of APPLICATION FEE of Rs. 120/- (Rs. 100/- as application fee and Rs. 20/- as Bank Service Charge) to the college A/C No. 3182977995 in any CBS Branch of Central Bank of India along with the CHALLAN can be made on and from 10-06-2014 to 20-06-2014. II. Application Fee can be deposited into bank up to 21.06.2014 III. PROVISIONAL MERIT LIST will be published on-line and in the College Notice Board on 26-06-2014 IV . Final MERIT LIST will be published on 29.06.2014 V. COUNSELLING and ADMISSION will start on and from 30-06-2014 as per the schedule to be announced later. 4. Important criteria: I. a) All admissions will be strictly on the basis of merit. Direct admission will be made after the merit lists are completely exhausted and if the seats are available. b) Application fees will be received in cash only. Cheque or DD is not acceptable. c) Students’ application will be activated by the service provider after getting information from the bank that the student has deposited the required fee of Rs 120/- .That means no application will be activated until and unless the application fee is not deposited. d) On depositing fee the student’s part of the application process will be completed. e) The students part of the cash challan bearing the unique application number must be preserved safely; otherwise the students will not be able to take part in counseling and admission process. II. Different merit lists for Counseling in different subjects will be notified in the notice board of the college and also in the college website: www.mmccollege.co.in or mmc.demoits.co.in on and from 29th June,2014. The date of counseling and venue of different subjects will be mentioned therein. III. During counseling the student must bring the student’s part of the cash challan and other documents mentioned in the Online Application Form. IV. Counseling will be purely on merit basis and admission will go on until all the seats are exhausted. V. Tentative starting date of admission: 30th June , 2014 VI. Basic criteria: a. Applicants seeking admission to the 1st year degree courses, 2014 classes must have passed (10+2) or equivalent examination in 2011 onwards provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100. b. Reservation of seats: SC: 22%, ST: 6%, OBC-A-10% (within 5 years from this session), OBC-B-7% (within 5 years from this session) and Physically handicapped 3% in each category. c. To apply for Honors in any subject the applicant must have secured pass marks in associated subjects in the previous qualifying examination. d. Separate application form can be submitted for each Honors subject with different general subject combination. e. Guardian (Father/Mother) must be present at the time of admission to sign the admission form during Counselling at the time of admission. f. Submission of admission form bears no guarantee for admission. VII. A. VIII. A. Eligibility criteria of application for admission in Honours subjects:- a) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate ( of best 4 subjects excluding compulsory Environmental Education or Studies) and 45% marks in the subject or related subject in the pre qualifying examinations OR b) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. Details of Eligibility for Admission in Honors subjects given below in the Table Aggregate of marks in Best 4 Subjects (excluding compulsory Environmental Education or Studies, if the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks in the pre-qualifying examination, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining aggregate marks). All students must have to take Compulsory English (50 marks) and ENVS(50 Marks) and any one of Bengali/Hindi (50 Marks) as language.
