Community Recreation and Meldrum Community Learning
Development (all part of the new Education, Learning & Leisure
Service) are delighted to present a new and comprehensive
programme of sport and physical activity camps for children within
the Meldrum network this summer.
All camps will be led by experiences and qualified coaches and are
part of an ongoing development plan for sport and physical activity.
Camps are designed to be a fun introduction to the activities but
sessions can also be tailored to suit children who already have
some experience.
HOW TO BOOK
We require a completed booking from and payment in order to
confirm your place on any of the camps. To request a form please
phone Dawn Burnett, CLD Team, Meldrum Academy 01651
871323 and she will post one out. Alternatively you can pick up a
form at any Meldrum network primary or secondary school,
Aberdeenshire Council pools (Turriff, Ellon & Inverurie) or sports
centre, or download one at www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/sport.
On receipt of your application form and full payment we will
send you a receipt, which is also your confirmation.
CHILD PROTECTION
Aberdeenshire Council operates a child protection policy, which
ensures we have all the necessary procedures and practices in
place to ensure the welfare of your child. Full details of this will be
sent with confirmation of your booking.

Gymnastics and Trampolining
An excellent sport for developing strength, flexibility, power, balance,
coordination, body tension, body awareness, spatial awareness and overall
fitness. Sessions include games, basic shaping and an opportunity to use
apparatus.
Ensure children bring a drink (preferably still water or juice).
Mon 16th, Wed 18th & Fri 20th July 2007 at Meldrum Academy
9.30am - 12.30pm or 1.00pm - 4.00pm

Muddy Feet
Join the Muddy Feet tribe for a really wild week this summer! Following the
popularity of the Muddy Feet after-school clubs, we have organised a
summer camp at Keithall School. Over the week, the Muddy Feet tribe will
enjoy den building, minibeast detectives, wildlife safaris, kids’ bushcraft,
treasure hunts and much more…
Children are to bring clothing suitable for the outdoors – wellies and a
waterproof coat.
Ensure children bring a drink (preferably still water or juice), a packed
lunch and a snack.
23rd - 27th July, 9.30am - 15.30pm
Cost - £15 per day
Swimming
Specially arranged admission to your nearest swimming pool during any
public/fun sessions this summer for just 50p each. Valid at the swimming
pools in Ellon, Inverurie, Huntly and Turriff.
Special vouchers are available from Meldrum Community Learning and
Development Office in Meldrum Academy ONLY. Each voucher costs just
50p and admits one child (U16) to any public or special fun session during
the school summer holidays at the above pools.
(Usual swimming admission price is £1.20 each for juniors)
Admittance is subject to the usual pool rules – an adult must accompany
children under the age of 8 years.
FDS Football
These courses will be a mix of football skills, small-sided games and lots of
fun games. The sessions will provide an intensive fun week, which will
develop all those attending. There will be daily awards for those players
who the coaches feel are showing good application as well as a high level
of skill. All the sessions will be taken by our Brazilian Soccer School
coaches and will be headed by Jockie Lawrence, who is the head coach of
the Brazilian Soccer School and who is an ex professional player.
Children are to wear suitable clothing, footwear and shin guards.

AFC Football
The 2007 Summer Holiday Programme aims to help children increase their
football skills and confidence in a safe and fun environment. As with all the
Shell Dons in the Community coaching programmes, the emphasis will be
on skill development and small-sided games. You can apply directly to
