From choosing your oil and filter all the way to discarding it. It is design to be an easy read so that you will not have any problems changing your oil. This will save you lots of money on trips to the auto shop.

1. Determine whether the vehicle is a diesel or petrol engine to select the proper
classification
a. Letters later in the alphabet are more modern, and designed to be compatible with
earlier classifications (i.e. CG-4 is more modern than CE)
2. Consult the owner’s manual to determine the manufacturer recommended SAE viscosity
rating for the motor oil in your vehicle
a. Choose an oil that displays an official API, ACEA, or CCMC quality tested
symbol
b. If unable to reference owner’s manual, select a viscosity rating appropriate to the
operating climate
