A Message from Our
President: Dennis Hoyle
December is Family Month for Rotary. Family
bonds are where our roots take hold and from there
we grow. We are part of a family unit that prepares
us for what we will experience in the world and how
we react to those experiences. Values are taught and
we carry them with us throughout our life.
As you read the description above, are you
thinking about your kin family or perhaps it
could also be our Rotary Family? Our inner wheel
(spouses, children, parents, etc) are our first place
we learn about relationship with others. As we grow
we realize that people we work with and spend
our time with are part of a larger family also. Cary
MacGregor Rotary Club is a wonderful family!
As Rotarians, we also have a worldwide
family that allows us to build friendships across
geographic boundaries, religions and the many
personal differences we have. Where would you
be without the support the Rotary family has
given you when you needed a friend?
Our Rotary motto “Service above Self” is a
strong family believe that we should try and follow
throughout our life with all of our “families.”
Save The Date

How much will the
winning ticket be worth
at our next club meeting?
Today is the deadline to bring gifts for the
Angel Tree. This annual program is part of the
Cary Family YMCA designed to reach into our
community and help many families enjoy the
spirit of Christmas. Your decision to participate
will help make the wishes of a child come true.
Thank you for your willingness to help. Susan
P. has brought in want and needs for our club
on small paper ornaments. Your child’s gender,
age, sizes or wishes are on the ornament. Gift
Wrapping is optional, but preferred. If you are
able to wrap, please make sure the ornament
provided is attached to the present. If you do
not wrap the present, please place the gift in a
bag and attach the ornament. It is important
that gifts are clearly labeled with the Angel
number. All gifts must be returned to Rotary
TODAY, December 8th.
As most of you know by now our district
has been matched with Belgium’s District
1620. We will have inbound and outbound
team visits in the same year. PDG Bart Cleary,
Chair Outbound GSE, called for nominations
of individuals to be the outbound team
leader. A review panel was appointed and
five candidates were interviewed for the
position. Annette (Taki) Donovan was
recommended as team leader and Serge
Dihoff, Governor 2010-2011, appointed her.
Taki brings vitality enthusiasm and energy
to the position. In addition to speaking
French, Taki is PE of Apex Sunrise (APS),
2010-2011 World Community Chair, Haiti
Relief Committee, APS Int’l Committee Chair,
APS Executive Committee and for Apex
Lunch, as well as a Paul Harris Fellow. Her
community involvement is too numerous to
list but numbers over 12 organizations. She
has traveled to India, England, Italy, Greece,
Egypt, France and from 2002 to the present,
has been on more than 10 missions to Haiti.
Bart is calling for Clubs to sponsor candidates
