INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO FIT THE ODME S 663
MKI AND MKII PRESSURE SWITCH KIT.
Goal:
To modify all old Seres MK-I and MK-II systems in order to eliminate the “FRESH WATER FAILURE” alarm,
With out affecting the performance of the ODME system.
In order to reach this Goal the following parts should be removed first from the system:
1 x S-PRE001 PRESSOSTAT, MK1&2 Located inside Oleo Meter cabinet.
1 x S-DEBB001 SART FLOWMETER INDICATOR,MK1&2 Located on the MK-I/MK-II Hydraulic Panel.
1 x All copper piping from Sart Flow Meter until the Oleo meter Cabinet
Figure 1: Pressure Switch PRE001 inside
the Oleo Meter cabinet which should be
removed
Figure 2: Pressure Switch PRE001 which
should be removed
Figure 3: Sart Flow Meter Indicator which
should be removed
CAUTION
Before any dismantling job make sure that both 3-Phase as well as 1-Phase Power supply to ODME is cut off.
Step 1
Go to Engine Room Open the Oleo Meter cabinet and remove the PRE001, the Pressure Switch
Support from the Oleo Meter left side wall as well as the 6mm metal pipe connecting the pressure
switch with the bulkhead penetration plate. Make sure that this hole is clear as you are going to
use it later in order to pass the pressure switch cable for the new pressure switch.
Step 2
Drill two holes in the right side of the Oleo Meter cabinet as it is shown in figure 4 in order to
Support the Zener Barrier. After done with the holes fix the Zener Barrier in the right wall side
of the Oleo Meter cabinet with the help of the screws and aluminum straight-plate holder that
you will find inside your MK1&2 Pressure Switch Modification Kit as shown in figure 5.
Step 3
After you done with the Zener Barrier support please prepare yourself in order to extend the
PRE001 Pressure Switch Cables so that they will have sufficient length in order to connect to
The Zener Barrier Terminals No: 1 and 2 as it is shown on figure 6.

MKI AND MKII PRESSURE SWITCH KIT.
Step 4
Go to Pump Room and find the Hydraulic Panel. Locate the Sart Flow meter as it is shown on Figure 7.
Close the 1.2 Bars air input to the Sart Flow Meter. Unscrew the two in and out air pipes from Sart Flow
Meter back side. After removing the air pipes unscrew the two Allen screws located in the backside
of the Sart Flow Meter in order to be able to dismantle the Red Indicator as shown in Figure 8.

Indicator shown in red.

Being Removed.

Place.
Step 5
Being in the Pump Room find the copper air pipe, which connects/drives the air from the measuring
vessel penetration plate to the Sart Flow Meter and remove this pipe, as you are going to use the
penetration plate hole for passing through it the pressure switch cable. Please see figure 10 below.

Penetration Plate air pipe for removal.
Figure 11: Pump before modificationScrews to be removed and fitted back.
Figure 12: Pump after modification with the new
pressure switch shown in place.
Step 6
a) Unscrew one of the four (4) screws of the Travaini Pump in the output line of the pump in order to
support the new pressure switch supplied with your kit. b) Also unscrew the venting screw located in
front side of the flange – as shown above in figure 11 - as you are going to fit there the (6mm x ¼”)
quick change connector for the plastic high-pressure tube, which is going to drive the new pressure
switch that you will fit in the next steps. Please see figure 11 and 12 above.
Step 7
Put now in place the support bracket supplied with your kit for the pressure switch as well as the
the (6mm x ¼”) quick change connector. Support the pressure switch on the support bracket as
shown in Figure 13 below and then connect the high-pressure tube supplied with Pressure Switch
and sampling pump as shown in figure 13 & 14 below.

running from pressure switch to Oleo
Content Meter Cabinet through the
Measuring Vessel Penetration plate.
Step 8
Now is the time to run the (3 x 0.75 mm2) cable from the pressure switch terminal block till the Zener
barrier located Inside the Oleo Content Meter Cabinet fitted in the engine room.
Please see figure 15 above. After you have done with the running and supporting with tire-ups the
Cable you can connect it on the Zener Barrier Terminals No 3 & No 4
Special Note1:
Please bear in mind that when No Water pressure in the circuit = pump stopped = pressure switch
Contact Short circuit. In other words make sure to connect to the Zener Barrier the Pressure Switch
contact which is Normally Closed when the Pump is stopped.
Special Note2:
Please also bear in mind that when you are upgrading the Oleo Meter from MK-II to MK-III/S3000 it
will be necessary to either cut on the penetration plate the previous used 1.2 bar air supply pipe or
to open a hole on the back side of the new MK-III/S3000 Oleo Meter as it was in the original MK-II
Oleo Meter so that the pressure switch cable will not be damaged when you will install the new
MK-III or S3000 Oleo Meter Cabinet. Please see figure 16 & 17 below.
Figure 16: Oleo Meter Penetration Plate Arrow shows
which pipe needs to be cut.
Figure 17: Oleo Meter Cabinet Arrow shows the location where a new hole
needs to be opened on the new MK-III or S-3000 Oleo-Meter.

Step 9
Put Plastic Steel Putty in the hole that the pressure switch cable is passing through the measuring
vessel penetration plate to the Oil Content Meter Cabinet so we can protect and avoid any gasses
to pass from Pump Room to Engine Room. Please see figure 15 above
Step 10
You are now done with your modification.
Please put back the Measuring Vessel Cover so you can protect the measuring vessel from improper
Painting.
