WHY WE WALK & RUN
The Buddy Walk was developed by the National
Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote
acceptance and inclusion of people with Down
syndrome. During the past 19 years, it has become
the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome
and a major platform for inclusion in communities
across the country.
Whether you have Down
syndrome, know someone who does or just want to
show your support, come and join the Buddy Walk.
Remember: Anybody can be a Buddy!
Registration includes: Fun walk for
adults and children of all ages and
abilities. Free t-shirt, entertainment,
face painting, inflatables, educational
information, talent show, games, train
rides, music and more!

PDSSN (Piedmont Down Syndrome Support
Network) is a nonprofit organization that
enriches the lives of individuals with Down
syndrome and provides information and support
to families and professionals. Funds raised from
the Buddy Walk & 5K Race allow the PDSSN
to provide resource notebooks to families of
new babies
with
Down
syndrome,
social
gatherings,
family
support,
educational
workshops,
community
information,
national
conference scholarships for individuals who
have Down syndrome and their families, and
more.

How To Form a Team:
It's simple! Three or more people can join the
fun and support the Buddy Walk and/or 5K
by forming a team.
Organize your friends,
family, co-workers and neighbors.
Choose a
team name and team captain, and click on the
Register Now button at www.pdssn.org to register
your team name. You can build your own
fundraising web page at this website and email the
link to friends and family.
Then, they can
register to walk with or donate to your team.
If you are unable to order online, please complete
the T-shirt order form for registered walkers
and/or runners and send it with your registration
by Sept 8 2014. Buddy Walk & 5K T-shirts
are guaranteed to people who preregister by
Sept. 8th.

Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network (PDSSN), TCTC, or the
National Down Syndrome Society, their officers, employees,

successors and assigns, for any and all injuries or damages of any

of taking part in the events and any related activities. I also
