Carolyn Andy, Office Coordinator,
in the Cardio Dept., received the
coveted, “Healthcare Worker of
the Year” award. Some of the
comments about Carolyn;
Carolyn performs like an owner in
her role in the Cardio Dept. She
goes above and beyond what is
required by using skill and persistence in her job duties. Coworkers describe Carolyn as personable and kind. Carolyn’s communication with doctors and their
staffs have built bridges because
they know that she is dependable and will follow through. Carolyn
gives back to the community by volunteering her time with the
Wellness 5K race and is an active member of her church. She loves
going to Hocking Hills Elementary and reading to the students. Other
nominees included: Rob Sattely, Med-Surg; Missy Poling, Social
Services Director; Cyndy Hamilton, Lab; Eileen Grywalski, Rehab;
Stacey Gabriel, Director of ED; and Letha Burrell, Outpatient Surgery.

Sign Up Today for 5K Race
The Annual HVCH Wellness 5K
race is Saturday June 14th at 9:00
am, at the Hocking Co. Fairgrounds.
Volunteers are still needed to help
with the race. Volunteers need to be
there by 7:30 am. If you would like
to run or walk in the race, the entry
fee of $15.00, can be payroll
deducted until June 13. After June
13th, the entry fee will be $20.00. Call Danielle Arnett at 8298 to sign
up or for more details.

Ginny Dearing!

Ginny Dearing has retired from
HVCH after 22 years of service.
Ginny was most recently a COTA
(Certified Occupational Therapy
Asst.) in the Logan Hocking
Schools. Ginny started here as a
receptionist in Admitting and at
one point in her career she was
the Black Lung Outreach
Coordinator. Ginny plans to
spend her time traveling, attending her grandchildren’s sports
events, and gardening.

A Garden Affair Raises

Executive Director. “Thanks to
everyone who donated wine for
the wine pull and silent auction
items. “We would like to thank
the HVCH Directors who helped
at the event: Stacey Gabriel,
Jane Shannon, Mindy Davis,
Jenny Kindinger, Roy Davis,
Dawna Evans, Heather Roberts,
and Crystal Kerns.
“We have already begun planning for the 2015 Garden Affair
event and already have some
new wonderful changes in mind,”
shared Krumlauf.
HVCH Service Awards
Jen Rush and sons, Luke and Seth,
along with other relatives and
friends, planted a tree in honor of
Craig Rush. The memorial tree is
located behind HVCH.
The HVCH family extends
their sincere condolences to
the family of Dr. Mehdi
Qamar. He will be sadly
missed by all.

was recognized
for 32 years of
service.

Ball Drop Tickets for
Sale- Win $1,000
Ball drop tickets are now being
sold for the Foundation Golf
Tournament which will take place
on July 19th, at the Hocking Hills
Golf Club. A total of 600 balls
will be dropped in the area of #8
green. The club-pro will hit a ball
into the mix, and the person’s
ball closest to the pro’s ball will
win $1,000. Tickets are $10.00
each and can be purchased
from your Director. Directors are
in a competition to win some
prizes, so support your dept. by
purchasing your ticket(s) today!
HVCH held a retirement party for
Bob Imel. Bob was most recently
in charge of the activities program in the BHU and prior to
that, in the former Skilled
Nursing Unit. Bob also recently
retired from the US Navy. Bob’s
plans for retirement include travel, outdoor events and the scouting program.
Bob will also be volunteering in
the Materials Mgmt. Dept., so
you will still see him around
HVCH.
HVCH Service Awards
The new Vision Benefit, now
includes frames and lenses.
Starting July 1st a smal deduction will be automatically added
to all employees who currently
have health insurance. The cost
will be $1 per pay for single coverage, $2 per pay for employee
plus 1 and $3 per pay for family
coverage. The new benefit was
added in response to employee
input during the last employee
survey, and was available due to
the hospital's participation in the
health insurance consortium.
Details on the new coverage are
available in HR.
Zumba Classes Continue
Through Summer
The classes are on Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 4:15 pm. to
5:15 pm. and Saturday mornings
from 9:00 am to 10:00 am., at
the Sprouts building on Chieftain
Drive. Classes can be purchased individually for $4.00
(employees) or $5.00 (community) per session, or one may purchase a punch card for $30.00
(employee) or $40.00 (community) for 10 sessions. The classes
are on-going so interested individuals can register by attending
a class. For more information,

Employee Service Awards Given at Dinner
5 Years of Service
The HVCH Employee Recognition Dinner was held recently at the
Olde Dutch Restaurant. The dinner was held to recognize HVCH
employees and thank them for their hard work, dedication, and years
of service. About 80 employees and members of the Board of
Directors, attended the annual event, where awards were given for
years of service milestones. Bob Schmidt,
20 Years of
Human Resources Director, was the emcee

for the evening.The comedy/magic of David
McCreary, provided wonderful entertainment.
