
Communicate regularly the opportunities that the local high school are offering in regards to transition to
secondary school

Provide professional development opportunities for interested staff to move into the secondary setting.

Embed the Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, and History into the Humpybong State School
curriculum program.

Implement Australian Curriculum in Geography.

Implement the action plans and school programs in all key learning areas.

Implement and embed the HSS planning format that includes how the different needs of learners are addressed
and how multiple opportunities to learn are provided.

Implement the school’s Pedagogical Framework

Continue to embed the practice of front-ending assessment and provide ‘A’ and ‘C’ exemplars in English, Science,
History and Music.

Continue to embed the practice of implementing feedback loops.

Implement the HSS Assessment and Reporting Framework including pre and post testing student data wherever
appropriate.

Develop individual student goals and scales for learning (ASOT) to provide feedback to guide future student
action.

Provide Three-Way Reporting opportunities for parents, students and teachers.

Analyse systemic and school based data to inform school direction and review programs and program
implementation.

Align and allocate resources based on data driven identified needs and core learning priorities.

Identify school targets and timelines aligned to the improvement agenda.

Develop, implement and review year level action plans to support the rigorous implementation of the school
improvement agenda.

Implement the Success School’s Project – semester One 2014 with a focus on numeracy.

Continue to implement the Art and Science of Teaching (ASOT) pedagogical framework – imbed Design
Question 1 (Learning Goals and Feedback), implement Design Question 5 (engagement), implement Design
Questions 6,7,8 through School Wide Positive Behaviour.

Embed quality standards and routines for teaching Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Science at Humpybong
State School.

Regular explicit feedback will be provided to students about their standard of work and progress towards
targets.

Continue to implement and embed strategies to build teacher capacity e.g. Observations, Walk Throughs,
vignettes, WOW.

Implement Great Results Guarantee strategy, targeting Prep to Year 3, matching National Minimum Standards
and improving the % of students in the upper two bands in NAPLAN testing

Targeted support and intervention delivered through the HSS Differentiation Framework.

Develop student learning goals aligned to pre and post test data. Align lesson goals and learning scales to the
test data and share the progress towards learning with parents and students.

Provide differentiated learning through identifying skills and misconceptions and adjusting teaching and
learning in response.

Implement Building Teacher Capacity Plan.

Embed the Developing Performance Strategy for all staff based on school priorities and individual needs and
align to the “Collegiate Engagement” approved by the LCC.

Embed the sector meeting process to enable sharing and consistency of curriculum implementation, sharing of
data, effective lesson delivery and to moderate student work.

Continue the Curriculum Leadership Team and teacher meeting structure as strategies to engage in
professional conversations and ensure the intended curriculum is enacted.

Facilitate coaching and mentoring in the aligned 2014 improvement agenda e.g. Improve student literacy and
numeracy outcomes, improve % of students in the upper two bands, embedding ASOT, First Steps in number.

Provide leadership opportunities for staff through Year Level and committee structure.

Provide professional development to ensure teachers understand how to provide explicit feedback to students to
guide future action.

Continue to develop teachers’ skills to differentiate learning, including planning for how the different needs of
learners are addressed and how multiple opportunities to learn are provided.

Provide feedback to build teacher capacity to enhance their pedagogy.
