From The Office Of The President...Roger Paskvan
May I extend a warm welcome to each of you in this first issue of our new newsletter. This newsletter will be
published four times a year and is designed to keep contact with all our customers, as well as allowing you to interact with
our staff. Every issue will feature important information and each department will offer their expertise in a number of
areas, designed to answer common questions that happen every day. Meet the staff and see our latest promotions, sales
and new products.
I would like to take my hat off to our editor and publisher, Valeri Beaver, for an outstanding job well done in this
first issue. Roger’s Two Way has been in business since 1976 serving the Law Enforcement and communications customers in five counties. Our business has grown in the past 25 years from a garage sideline to 10 full time employees and a
new building facility. Our product line has expanded from not only service, but Radio sales, cellular phones, paging,
tower rental, and custom electronics. Our motto says it all, “Communications Technology For The Serious User.”
Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated. We want to know what you think of our newsletter!

Winter Air In My Radio???
Winter is coming!
Everyone has heard the old
joke about winter air in car
tires. Don’t let anyone tell you
that winter air is required in
your radio! Severe winter
weather means that you will
depend on your two-way even
more than ever and simple
checks can help eliminate the
need for a service call.
When winter weather
delivers ice and snow it can
cause problems with your
radio system. Moisture and ice
can build up in your antenna
system causing poor range and
corrosion. Ice buildup on a
mobile antenna whip will
reduce range and is easily
removed. Ice and moisture can
collect under a mobile base,
too. You can easily remove
your mobile antenna (it just
unscrews) and check for this
problem.
While you are at it, take
a look at the antenna and
power wiring for all the radios
in your system. Make certain
that all connections are tight
and free of corrosion. If you
suspect a problem with your
system, call or email
([email protected]) or
repair department for an
appointment. We have the
special equipment required
to diagnose and repair
high-tech base and mobile
two-way radio equipment.
- John Simmons
Don’t allow ice and snow buildup
in your radio!!
Safety with Cellular phones
Laws are being passed
forbidding the use of cellular
phones while people are driving.
The installation of a
hands-free kit with your Nokia
or Motorola phone will help
you to be a safe law-biding
citizen.
A hands-free kit will
give you the freedom to have
fill use of your hands while
driving your car, and give you
better reception with the attached external antenna.
Call Roger’s Two Way
Radio for prices and more
information.

WARNING!!
The FCC is currently doing
a major audit on all land mobile
frequencies in their database
(which is notoriously in error). If
you receive a request in the mail
wanting you to verify your licensed frequency, don’t throw it
away. Fill out the paper work and
send it to the FCC right away. If
you have not received any survey
from the FCC and you are using a
frequency, it is imperative that you
send a letter to the FCC listing the
frequencies that you have, and a
copy of the license.
At some point in the
future, the FCC will update the
database. Any frequencies not
accounted for, including the
frequencies you may be using, will
be wiped clean. Act now so you
don’t lose your precious channels.
If you have any questions
call Tim Deshane at our office,
800-243-3077.
