SILENT CONFESSION
ORDER OF WORSHIP
October 12, 2014
28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
10:00 am
We gather to praise God, in God’s sanctuary, to rededicate our lives to the service
of God through music, spoken word and discipleship.
A time for quiet preparation before worship
Good and faithful God, meet us in this place, in this hour, we pray.
Comfort and confront us, delight and disturb us, exhort and expose
us. Inspire us to generosity, fidelity and courage. Leave us not unchanged by having been in your company and in the company of
your saints. Guard us from any wishful thinking that worship is just
another hour in just another day. Amen.

FOUNDATION
- From Psalm 51
Have mercy on me according to your steadfast love, O God;
According to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my
sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in
your sight;
You are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass
judgment.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit
within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your
holy spirit from me.

REPTON
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and
in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy
Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he
rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to
judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy
catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the
resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
