4.1. Description of first aid measures
Inhalation Toxic by inhalation. Inhalation may cause coughing, tightness of the chest and irritation of
the respiratory system. Inhalation of vapour may cause shortness of breath. Move the exposed
person to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Eye contact May cause irritation to eyes. Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes
holding the eyelids open. Seek medical attention if irritation or symptoms persist.
Skin contact May cause sensitisation by skin contact. Wash off immediately with plenty of soap and
water. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion May cause irritation to mucous membranes. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If swallowed,
do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Inhalation Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause: Sensitization. Toxic if inhaled. Inhalation may
cause coughing, tightness of the chest and irritation of the respiratory system. Inhalation of vapour
may cause shortness of breath. Sensitizer, Lungs.
Eye contact May cause irritation to eyes.
Skin contact May cause sensitisation by skin contact.
Ingestion May cause irritation to mucous membranes.
4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Remove the affected
person from the source of contamination immediately.
SECTION 5: Firefighting measures
5.1. Extinguishing media
Use as appropriate: Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2). For large fires:. Water spray. Do NOT use
water jet.
5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Carbon oxides may be formed in fire conditions. Burning produces irritating, toxic and obnoxious
fumes. Move containers away from fire if it can be done without risk.
5.3. Advice for firefighters
Wear self contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing. Do not allow product to enter
drains. Do not allow runoff water to enter sewers or drains.
SECTION 6: Accidental release measures
6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Ensure adequate ventilation of the working area. Wear suitable protective equipment.
6.2. Environmental precautions
Do not allow product to enter drains. Prevent further spillage if safe.
6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Remove mechanically; cover the remainder with wet, absorbent material (e.g. sawdust, chemical
binder based on calcium silicate hydrate, sand). After approximately one hour transfer to waste
container and do not seal (evolution of CO2!). Transfer to suitable, labelled containers for
disposal. Clean area thoroughly with detergent.
