Just for today, help me, God, to remember to be kind and patient to the people who love me, and to those who work with me too. Teach me to see all the beauty that I so often ignore, and to listen to the silent longing of my own soul. Just for today, help me, God, to remember You. Let this be a good day, full of joy and love because I made it so. Amen Adapted from http://www.prayers-for-special-help.com/prayer-fortoday.html#sthash.WUyxEpTj.dpuf Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends St Munchin’s Athletics Carnival held last week was very much a community event which highlighted the collaboration which exists in our school community. I would firstly like to thank Mr Luke Marino for organising his first carnival and for doing so exceptionally well. Congratulations to the sports captains, and the students for participating and supporting their team mates with enthusiasm and positive attitudes. Thank you also to all staff who carried out various tasks and duties to ensure the carnival progressed smoothly. Without the hard work of the P& F and community members in preparing morning tea, lunch and refreshments the energy levels would certainly have waved throughout the day. It was very pleasing to note the number of supporters who came along to encourage the students and factions and for assisting with allocated roles such as place judges etc. An event such as this would not be possible without team work and community spirit. Well done to everyone. We are truly blessed! On Friday the 19th of September we cordially invite our grandparents to a special mass at 9am in the Church followed by morning tea in the Parish Hall. We acknowledge the work of grandparents as extended family members who have great input in the everyday lives of our families. To assist with catering, please rsvp to 9234 7555 or email [email protected] or use the RSVP slip at the end of the newsletter. St Munchin’s Catholic School PO Box 172 Gosnells 6990 www.stmunchins.wa.edu.au Urgent Notice Concerning Pre-Kindergarten (3 yr. old) Programme at St Munchin’s Many of you will be aware that St Munchin’s School commenced a Pre Kindy program in 2012. The program began with 20 students and was held over two days. In 2013 the enrolments dropped to 12. In 2014 we started with 6 students in first semester and by the end of second semester will only have 12 students. Pre-Kindy students can attend from the day they turn 3 years of age. The program me is organised by a fully qualified early learning teacher which is very different to the program run by day care. Since the programme is fully funded by the school and government funding does not apply, enrolment numbers must be a minimum of 12 at the beginning of the year for the program to cover the cost of the teacher and teacher assistant and general running costs. The cost at present is $75 per day per student. Enrolments for 2015 at this stage stand at 4. This number is not sufficient to continue the programme. The school must make a decision by the end of November 2014 as to whether the program will continue in 2015. Therefore I urge parents, guardians and community members to consider enrolling your 3yr old in the program by completing an enrolment form obtainable from the office and by spreading the word in the community of the availability of the program if the interest exists. I am very happy to meet with parents/guardians to provide further information or alternately an information booklet can be obtained from the school office. This will assist the school with the decision on whether we proceed with 3yr old pre-kindy in 2015 or not run the program until numbers warrant in the future. ACROD Parking Parking for people with disability is provided at various locations throughout the school. These locations are clearly signposted with the blue ACROD symbol and appropriate upright signage. Only vehicles displaying a current registered ACROD permit are entitled to park in these bays. If you do not have an ACROD permit PLEASE DO NOT park in these bays. Fines apply for vehicles who are not displaying a current ACROD permit and will be issued by the ranger. Out of School Care – Vacation Care Program St Munchin’s OSHC will be open during the school holidays.
