2014 FOOTBALL PLAYOFF INFORMATION

LHSAA Football Rules
Completely familiarize yourself with Article 14, of the 2013-2014 LHSAA Handbook.

2.
Deadline for naming district 1st place teams
Friday, November 7, 2014
(Teams playing Saturday, November 8 must report immediately following completion of
the game and no later than 8:00 pm.)
3.
Reporting 1st place teams and teams tied
for 1st place
The district chairperson reports all automatic qualifiers using the District Chairperson
Certification Form. Form may be faxed or emailed.
4.
Wildcard Program
Addressed under Rules 14.9, 14.10, 14.11, 14.12, 14.13 and 14.14 in the
2013-2014 LHSAA Handbook and online.
5.
Determining Power Rating
See Rule 14.13 of the 2014-2015 LHSAA Handbook.
6.
Correction of Errors in Wildcard Program

Determining “Home” Team
Should some team receive a “bye” because another team withdraws from the playoffs,
the “bye” will count as a “home” game for the team drawing the bye.

15.
RESPONSIBILITY OF REPORTING PLAYOFF
WINNERS TO LHSAA
The Winning Team will enter the results of the game online immediately after the game.
(NO PHONE CALLS OR FAXES.)
The HOME team for the next round shall enter all game information online.
If the Winning Team fails to report the outcome of a state playoff contest to the
LHSAA online by 10:00 p.m. on the day of the contest, the school shall be fined
$100.

Officials For Playoff Contests
Assigned by the Director of Officials for all rounds of the playoffs.

Officials Pay

Chain Crews
Use adults on the chains and down marker.
21.
Escort and Security for Officials
Must be provided by “Home Team”. School must provide staff member and at least
one law enforcement officer to meet and escort officials to dressing room, before, at
halftime, after the game and to their car upon leaving the stadium. Arrange for a
meeting place for officials at halftime and after the game.
22.
Admission Prices
Must be agreed upon by both schools.
23.
Broadcasts (Radio/TV/Internet)
Must be agreed upon by both schools. Fees become part of gate receipts.
24.
Passes
Only LHSAA, LHSCA, Football Officials and Press Passes will be honored.
25.
Comp Passes
Must be agreed upon by both schools and must be reasonable.
26.
Admission Charge for Cheerleaders, Band and Pep
Squad Members
To be determined by both schools.
27.
Playoff Percentage to LHSAA
10% of gross receipts before any deductions are made. The financial statement must
be sent to the LHSAA with your school check made payable to the LHSAA. [Found

28.
Use of Video Taping to ‘Scout’ Playoff Opponents
Illegal unless both schools agree in writing prior to the game.
29.
Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic
Teams qualifying for the state finals will be given a championship bulletin at their
Semi-Final Winners Meeting held at the LHSAA office:
Select Schools on Saturday, November 29 at 1:00 PM and
Non-Select Schools on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM

Program Information
All Bi-District/First Round playoff winners SHALL mail to Nicole Griffith a complete
team roster (included in this bulletin): by Monday, November 17, 2014 along with any
other required information.

Number of Officials
 Bi-District and Regional Rounds
All Games: Five on the field officials and one clock operator**
crews.
 Quarterfinal Round
Fifteen Games: Six on the field officials and one clock operator**
crews.
Nine Games: Seven on the field officials and one clock
operator** crews.
 Semi-Final Round
Five Games: Six on the field officials and one clock operator*
crews.
Nine Games: Seven on the field officials and one clock operator**
crews.
 Final Round
All Games: Seven on the field officials and two clock operator
crews.
** The home school may request a 25 second clock operator for any
round of the playoffs. Contact the assignment secretary.
The clock operator shall be paid.

School Information & Roster Forms
1. All information must be typed using upper/lowercase format. Please
do not use all caps.
2. Handwritten or scanned/faxed documents will not be accepted.
3. Send forms to the above-mentioned email as a word document.
Please send forms in one document as it is below. Do not send
entire bulletin. Send only the roster forms.
4. Use the following formats when entering information on the roster
forms
How to Send:
a. Height: Enter using only a hyphen between foot and inches. (example:
5-10) Do not use apostrophes or quotations
b. Weight: Only include the number. Do not put “lbs.” after the number
(example: 185)
c. Grade: Enter only numbers not the abbreviations or “th” after the
numbers (example: 12)
Team Photos & Logos
1. Both photos and logos must be sent as high resolution color files
2. Images should be at least 300 dpi. This will insure images will print in
high quality.
3. Acceptable file types are .jpeg, .eps, .tif
4. Team photos should be at least 9 inches wide
Schools are encouraged to send a read receipt with all emails.
Failure to Send:
1. School will be fined $200.
2. School will be required to hand deliver missing articles on a disk to the
LHSAA.
