Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE)
Quick Tips on selecting your course choices
You will receive your Form A together with your Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level
examination results from your secondary school on the day of the release of the results.
Your Form A provides the following important information:
 Your JAE PIN for login to JAE Internet System.
 Your CCA Grade.
 Your raw ELR2B2 aggregate scores for polytechnic courses.
 List of course codes of courses that you are eligible to apply through JAE. The courses
listed are those courses that you have met the minimum entry requirements based on your
GCE O Level results.
Do visit TP website for information on the TP courses you are eligible to apply through JAE.
1. For polytechnic courses, applicants will be ranked according to their aggregate of
English Language (EL), 2 relevant subjects (R2) and 2 other best subjects (B2), in short,
ELR2B2, based on their GCE O Level results.
2. Your ELR2B2 score depends on which diploma course you are applying for and the
diploma courses are grouped under the Aggregate Types of ELR2B2-A, ELR2B2-B,
ELR2B2-C and ELR2B2-D.
3. Applicants who are active in their secondary school’s Co-curricular Activities (CCA)
may gain up to 2 CCA bonus points that are used to compute the net ELR2B2 aggregate
scores.
4. Find out more about the O Level subjects used for ELR2B2 computation and the
courses under the respective aggregate types at TP website.

To compute your Net ELR2B2 Aggregate Score:
Raw ELR2B2 Aggregate Score – CCA Bonus Point = Net ELR2B2 Aggregate Score
Check out the courses’ previous last aggregate scores at TP website. These scores show the net
ELR2B2 aggregate scores of the lowest ranked students who were admitted to these courses
through the previous JAE. These are meant as a reference to guide you in your selection. Do
note that they do not constitute the admission scores for subsequent admission exercises.
You are given 12 choices in JAE, so fully utilize all your 12 choices.
For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are
passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is close to the respective
courses’ last aggregate scores for the previous year.
To maximize the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure
that some of your selected courses’ last aggregate scores are equal to and above your net
ELR2B2 aggregate score.
