SUNDAY 14 DECEMBER 2014: - ARRIVE IN MUMBAI FLIGHT TO SRINAGAR Upon arrival at Mumbai International airport at 0005 (just after midnight) on 14th Dec, after completing formalities of immigration and customs, collect the baggage and come out of the main gate Where, there will be our representative will welcome and escort you by a private chauffeur driven transport to the hotel. Check-in. Mumbai formerly Bombay is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. As of 2009, Mumbai is the largest city in the world in terms of population, with the city proper having a population of approximately 14 million inhabitants, and along with the neighboring cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it forms an urban agglomeration with around 19 million people. Kashmiri welcome tea will be served. Visit Mughal Garden and its Bagh like Nishat Bagh built by Nur Jahan’s Brother, Asaf Khan in 1633 A.D. Cheshma Shahi and Pari Mahal – built by Shah Jahan in 1632 A.D. and Shalimar Bagh built by Jahangir for his wife Empress Nur Jahan. All these gardens are situated near the bank of Dal Lake Near the Zabarvan Hills in the back ground. Evening visit the world famous Carpet Weaving Factory known for its export handicraft products. Dinner & overnight stay in houseboat. MONDAY 15 DECEMBER 2014: - SRINAGAR – GULMARG – SRINAGAR DEPARTURE AT 9 AM After breakfast, full day trip to Gulmarg (meadows of flowers) 2730 mts above sea level. The distance of 56kms, will be covered in one and half-hour by heated jeep. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world, and one of the highest golf courses in the world with 18 holes. You can enjoy a view of Naga Parbat if the weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. Ski-lift ride will be given to snow peak. Lunch will be served in restaurant. Warm jacket and snow shoes will be provided. Evening drive back to Srinagar houseboat. Dinner will be served. GULMARG: - Gulmarg legendary beauty, its prime location and its proximity to Srinagar naturally make it one of the premier hill resorts in country. Originally named Gaurimarg mouth. A moat indicates the dividing it was renamed Gulmarg in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favorite haunt of Emperor Jahangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers. Today Gulmarg is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty it also has the highest green golf course in the world, at an attitude of 2680 meters above sea level, and is the country's prime ski resort in the winter. Overnight stay in house boat. TUESDAY 16 DECEMBER 2014: - SRINAGAR /PAHALGHAM/SRIANGAR DEPART AT 9 AM After breakfast full day trip to Pahalgam (valley of shepherds) by jeep. The total distance of 96kms will be covered in 3hrs. En-route visit saffron field of pampered, and enjoy the beautiful countryside drive through the pine forest. Horse ride will be given along the pony trails to see magnificent view of the mountains. Warm jackets and snow shoes will be provided. Lunch will be served in restaurant. Evening drive back to houseboat. Dinner and overnight. Pahalgam: Pahalgam, the Village of Shepherds! The Lidder River runs through Pahalgam in a rushing gray-green torrent, foam flecked, and breaking in curling waves against the boulders that lie in its path. Its sound is an eternal as the whisper of wind through pine and fir, its force primeval its untamed splendor. WEDNESDAY 17 DECEMBER 2014: - SRINAGAR – DELHI BY FLIGHT 12:20 13:35 SPICE JET SG-869 After breakfast transfer to domestic airport to board your flight for Delhi by SG-869 Departure at 12:20 Hrs, on arrival Delhi Airport at 1335 Hrs. On arrival our representative will meet to welcome and escort you by a private chauffeur driven transport to the hotel. Evening is free. This is the capital city of India, and can be called as a major gateway to India. Delhi is one of the most important metropolitan in India, as it is the city of power. It has a very good combination of both modern, as well as ancient culture. In these 3000 years of its existence, there has been the origin of seven more cities, where the traditional Indian capital is. Strategic location, mixture of modern and Indian culture, rich history, medieval market, beside the modern ones etc are the main reasons for choosing it, as the seat of power. Delhi is a city waiting to be explored. It is also known as the Headquarters of Indian politics, as most of the heads of the Indian government and other political parties; reside here, including the Prime Minister, and President of the country. Overnight at hotel. THURSDAY 18 DECEMBER 2014: - DELHI – SIGHTSEEING AT 9 AM After breakfast half day city tour of Old & New Delhi visiting Red fort. Jami Masjid Raj Ghat. The largest in India, It has three great gateways, four angle towers and two minarets constructed of alternating vertical strips of red sandstone and white marble. India Gate, this 42ms high stone of triumph is a war memorial. It bears the names of 85,000 Indian army soldiers, who died in the campaigns of WW I. Rashtrapati Bhawan - This palace-like building is the official residence of the President of India and an interesting blend of Mughal and western architectural styles, Qutub Minar & Humayun Tomb. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel. FRIDAY 19 DECEMBER 2014: - DELHI – LEISURE Full day free for independent activities. Overnight at hotel. Mosque is 15 minutes from the hotel for the Jumma Salaah. Jumma is at 1:30 PM SATURDAY 20 DECEMBER 2014:- DELHI – AGRA – BY DRIVE DEPART AT 7:30 AM After breakfast depart by surface to Agra, on arrival check-in to hotel. Agra is the quintessential Mughal City, where the world marvels at the epitome of love, beauty and sacrifice, The Taj-Mahal one of the wonders of the world. So overwhelming is the magic monument, that Agra has been immortalized, as the City of the Taj. Afternoon visit Taj Mahal, built by the Moghul Emperor Shah Jehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Besides the Taj, Agra Fort (also called the Red Fort) makes an interesting sight. Besides the historical monuments, one can also explore Agra’s rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. Overnight at hotel. SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER 2014:- AGRA – JAIPUR – BY DRIVE AT 8 AM After breakfast depart by surface to Jaipur, en route visit Fatehpur Sikri, on arrival check-in at Hotel. Afternoon city tour visiting City Palace, the former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. Jantar Mantar is the largest of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh. The Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds was constructed for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen. The picturesque capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is color washed pink-the color associated with hospitality in Rajput culture. This Beautiful city along with Agra and Delhi form what is known as the Golden Triangle of Indian tourist circuit. Jaipur is a city where royalty still lives in the grandeur of its palaces, where fighting for the honor of the clan has never been a need but a way of life, and where treating guests as gods has been a tradition from time immemorial. There is a timeless appeal to Jaipur's colorful bazaars where one can shop for Rajasthani handlooms and trinkets. Beautifully laid out gardens and parks, attractive monuments and marvelous heritage hotels, once the residence of Maharajas are worth admiration. Not to mention the ambling camels and cheerful people in multi-hued costumes those make your trip to the pink city a memorable one. Dinner at hotel. Overnight at hotel MONDAY 22 DECEMBER 2014:- JAIPUR – AJMER-JAIPUR DEPART AT 8 AM After breakfast free day at leisure or option to visit Ajmer. The Dargah of Khawaja Moin-ud-din Chishti is located at the foot of a small and barren hill in Ajmer. It is said that Mughal Emperor Humayun built the shrine and the Buland Darwaza, carved in silver, was built by the Nizam of Hyderabad. The tomb of Khawaja is surrounded by a silver railing and there is a separate women's praying room, said to be built by Chimni Begum - the daughter of Shahjahan’s. There are two huge cauldrons in the courtyard of the Dargah with a capital of 2,240 kg and 4,480 kg respectively. Kheer (sweet porridge) and Khichri (savoury porridge) are cooked in these cauldrons to be distributed among the devotees. An interesting custom related to the cauldron is the looting of the Kheer. Akbar Masjid and Shah Jahan Masjid are also inside the same complex. Evening drive back to the Jaipur. Overnight stay. TUESDAY 23 DECEMBER 2014- JAIPUR – SIGHTSEEING/MUMBAI FLIGHT Early Morning at 7 AM excursion to Amber Fort - located at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur and was the old fort of the Kachhwaha clan of Amber, which used to be the capital, till it was moved to Jaipur. The fort is built with white marble and red sandstone and looks even more attractive because of the Maota Lake in the foreground. The fort in itself is a beautiful sight to behold but as one looks on the fort with its clear reflection on the lake in the front one cannot help but wonder if it is a dream or a beautiful illusion. Later in the day transfer to airport to board flight 6E-254 for Mumbai at 1735 hrs, arrive Mumbai AT 1915 HRS. Meet our rep on arrival and transfer to hotel. WEDNESDAY 24 DECEMBER 2014:- MUMBAI – SIGHTSEEING AT 9 AM After breakfast half day city tour. Once you are in Mumbai, the list of sites to visit is endless. First of all the twinkling lights from the skyscrapers itself will keep your eyes wide open with excitement and wonder and to add up to your excitement you have a number of sites to visit that could be teamed up as historical sites, contemporary wonders, archaeological sites, religious sites and natural wonders. Haji Ali Dargah & the Gateway of India is the main attraction of Mumbai city. Built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in the year 1911, this massive historical monument makes a must visit during your Mumbai sightseeing. Moreover, there are sites like the Mani Bhawan or the Gandhi memorial, Marine Drive and Juhu that give you the feeling of being in the commercial capital of India. The gardens like the Hanging Garden and the Kamla Nehru Garden will provide you the much needed rest between your sightseeing trips and the Chowpatty gives you the view of one of the most happening beaches of Mumbai. THURSDAY 25 DECEMBER 2014- MUMBAI – LEISURE Full day free for independent activities. Overnight at hotel. FRIDAY 26 DECEMBER 2014:- MUMBAI – LEISURE Full day free for independent activities. Check out at 1200 hrs, put the luggage in the luggage room and spend rest of the day for shopping and other activities and later transfer to airport to board flight for onward journey. 3 rooms will be provided till evening for luggage and to freshen up and change. SATURDAY 27 DECEMBER 2014- MUMBAI – DEPARTURE Flight to South Africa depart 0135 arrive Joburg 0700 **************************TOUR ENDS ****************************** IMPORTANT NOTES (please read carefully) 1. Note that generally we are successful in finding suitable partners. However, if we cannot do this you will be matched with any other single person of any age group. If no other person is found to share a room with you, you will have to pay the single supplement. Children: Every possible attempt will be made to accommodate children in rooms next to their parents but this cannot be guaranteed as some hotels do not have the appropriate accommodation or do not comply with our requests. There is no price reduction for 3 persons sharing a room. Rooms are allocated randomly and some may get better positioned rooms (i.e. the view) and no changes can be made. 4. Payment Deposit your payment into the account of Sure Mirage Travel immediately to secure your place. After the deposit has been made, please write clearly the name of each passenger travelling and your phone number onto the deposit slip and fax copy to 031 208 4404. Very important! If the passenger’s name is not shown clearly on the deposit slip the payment will be impossible to trace and will not be recorded. Cash deposits - if you deposit cash into our account please add R200 per person. This is the bank’s cash deposit fee. Unfortunately payments CANNOT be made with credit cards because all tickets are sent to us by the airline as a group in one email just prior to departure. Also, we do not have credit card facilities at our office. We are fully aware that normally you get free travel insurance if you book with your credit card but we do not accept credit card payment. Please do not query this as payment by credit card can definitely NOT be made. Our office can arrange travel insurance on request. 5. Vaccinations None required 6. Visas/Passports: Durban Travellers only You can go directly to the consulate to obtain your visa or our office can do it for you at a cost of R150 per person plus the applicable visa fees. Outside of KZN (e.g. Gauteng) Travellers Due to new regulations requiring proof of residence, all Gauteng passengers must apply for their visas in by themselves in Johannesburg. It’s quite simple. Please call us for details of what is required to be done. DO NOT send your passports to us. 7. Luggage Maximum weight allowed 30 kg and 7 kg hand luggage. Abie Dawjee and Warhart International will not be responsible for any baggage lost or delayed by the airlines. Delayed baggage will be conveyed to you at your cost. 8. Currency Do NOT take travellers cheques. Carry only cash dollars 9. Tips Service charges have not been added to the package price so it would be appreciated if you would tip generosity! 10. Travel Insurance We strongly advise that all travellers obtain travel insurance. In the event of any health problems we cannot be responsible to provide payment for medical treatment or hospitalization. Contact our office for details. We may be able to obtain a special group rate for a group of more than 16 persons. 11. Cancellations Any cancellation made less than 14 days before departure will be subject to a 50% penalty. Any cancellation made less than 7 days before departure will be subject to a 75% penalty. 12. Medication Do carry some simple medication like Panado, Lomotil, Immodium, Flutex and so on. 13.
