WELCOME
TO BUTLINS
SKEGNESS
FOR THE
GREAT BRITISH
ALTERNATIVE
MUSIC FESTIVAL
We’ve got an unrivalled line up of bands and
protagonists from the infamous era of Punk, Alt
Rock and The New Wave including pioneers like The
Boomtown Rats, The Damned, The Jam, Big Country, Bad
Manners, Sham 69 and a host of other alternative acts
that we know you’re going to want to check out.
This is your guide to who’s on when, where to go and
how to get the most out of your weekend. There’s also
lots to keep you busy during the day.

FRIDAY 10 PM • CENTRE STAGE
Instrumental in kick-starting the original punk rock
scene, The Damned have never been afraid to push
themselves musically and throughout their years
together have cruised through whatever areas of
progressive, psychedelic, goth and pop rock that take
their fancy. They were the first punk rock band from
the United Kingdom to release a single (“New Rose”) an
album (Damned Damned Damned), to have a record on
the UK music charts, and to tour the United States.
FRIDAY 11.45 PM • CENTRE STAGE
Anti Nowhere League formed in 1980 and set out with one mission...
to get banned from every TV show, radio station and newspaper
just for a laugh... Numerous encounters with the authorities
followed but they just pulled in more and more people to their live
shows and have continued to release material away from the public
eye. In an age where they stood alone, original, with attitude as
a real band, the league lives on and long may independent bands
continue to keep the music live and real... Long live The League.
SATURDAY 4 PM & 10 PM • REDS
Formed in Dublin in 1975, The Boomtown Rats were once
described as ‘leprous anti-establishment scumbags’ and
banned from playing in their home country. They played
their first UK shows with The Ramones and Talking
Heads and fought the punk wars alongside the Sex
Pistols, The Clash, The Jam and The Stranglers. They
were one of the biggest bands of the late ‘70s and ‘80s,
and their string of hits and platinum albums earned them
Brit Awards, Ivor Novellos and Grammys.
SATURDAY 11.45 PM • REDS
Goldblade celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2015 with a series
of special gigs with the band at a high water mark in their helter
skelter career. Their righteous punk rock arrived in the mid
nineties in a time when the music was considered dead but their
endless touring helped to reverse the decline and their critically
acclaimed singles and albums have helped pave the way for a
resurgence of the form. Their live show is legendary and has
seen them a big hit at festivals across the world.
SATURDAY 11.45 PM • CENTRE STAGE
SUNDAY 10 PM • CENTRE STAGE
The band has had many line up changes but the most notable
was Jimmy Pursey’s departure following his sacking in 2006,
in which he was immediately replaced by the current vocalist
Tim V. Tim V’s reign saw him take the band from its lowest
point to get it touring worldwide with 3 successful selling
albums along with World Tours and major festivals...and he
has clocked up more shows than any other previous line up.
Big Country are a Scottish rock band formed in 1981, they
reached the height of their popularity in the 80s, but have
retained a cult following throughout the years. In 2007, to mark
the 25 years as Big Country, founding members Bruce Watson,
Tony Butler and Mark Brzezicki reunited and embarked on a
UK tour and released a new album Twenty Five Live. In 2012
they reformed again with Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes
replacing Butler and began touring and releasing new material.
SUNDAY 8.15 PM • REDS
One of the pioneers of the Alternative age, The Lambrettas
were formed in the late 1970s and signed to Rocket Records.
Best remembered for their single Poison Ivy and the album
Beat Boys in the Jet Age, they called time on their career after
only 8 singles and 2 albums. In 2009 after the anniversary of
Quadrophenia, original members Doug Sanders and Paul Wincer
recruited Chris Venzi-Jones and Phil Edwards and began touring
again with their music as lively as it ever was.
SUNDAY 12 PM • REDS
Jeremiah Ferrari are a 4 piece Reggae band with influences of
Rock, Punk, Ska and Calypso. In 2011 they entered and won the
IAStival Battle of the Bands hosted at the Night and Day Cafe
in Manchester. In 2012 they won The Key 103 City Soundwave
competition appearing at The Manchester Evening News Arena.
They have also supported The Skints, Turin Breaks, The English
Beat, Cali Reggae Band & The Aggrolites, Neville Staple Band &
The Blockheads.
