Office of the Employer Advisor…..YOUR WSIB Resource The Office of the Employer Adviser has now located an Employer Specialist in Thunder Bay. Her name is Pauline Trush and she has recently been hired to serve Northwestern Ontario employers, which includes Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas. The Office of the Employer Adviser (OEA) is an independent agency that has been helping employers manage their workplace safety and insurance costs since 1985. The Office of the Employer Adviser provides expert advice to any size employer and represents primarily employers who employ fewer than 100 employees on workplace safety and insurance issues. The services of the OEA are completely confidential and employers will never be charged a fee, given the OEA is funded through the premiums or administrative fees paid by Ontario employers to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). This service is therefore a pre-paid service that is available to you, free of any additional charges. Employers can contact Ms. Trush at any time to discuss any possible compensation-related issues. Ms. Trush can provide employers with practical advice on claims and revenue matters and represent employers at appeal hearings and mediations and Tribunal (WSIAT) hearings. Ms. Trush can be reached at: Phone: (807) 577-0222 Fax: (249) 266-0701 Toll Free: 1-800-387-0774 Email: [email protected] Please feel free to contact Ms. Trush directly to discuss any WSIB-related matters. The companies, which were selected through an open procurement process, will deliver project services under contract to IO for assignments valued at between $100,000 and $10 million. Over the five-year term of the contract, the PMSPs will oversee the delivery of approximately 1,500 construction and improvement projects worth an estimated $180 million annually. These projects involve renovations, repairs, and replacements required to maintain the real estate portfolio or to meet specific program requirements of government ministries and the broader public sector. Together, MHPM and SNC Lavalin O&M will engage small-and medium-sized Ontario businesses for the provision of products and services to meet the needs of the Ontario government.
