Mission:
Mission of German University Bangladesh (GUB) is to:
o Introduce and implement study programs with special
attention to the Engineering Sciences and Bio-Sciences
as Environmental Technology, Food Technology,
Mechatronic, Biotechnology, Human and Animal Health.
o Train the future Graduate in order to qualify them and
to face the challenges in those fields according to
international standards.
o Admission of students will be based exclusively on the
excellence of their capability and scientific creativity.
o The Main Mission of GUB is to provide research
based knowledge to the student. The Professor at GUB
is above all a scientist with international reputation.
The orientation in the lectures will be follow often the
research fields of the faculties. Students will be strong
involved in these research.
o The university is committed to a mission of providing
international quality of higher education and of
contributing to the sustainable economic growth of the
country

Objectives:
The prime objective of this University will be to
introduce quality education and to provide also
non-traditional scientific fields. In this connection
there are following objectives:




Curricula have been developed by the German
and Bangladeshi Professors.
At GUB the Degree will be accredited
according to European Credit Transfer System
(ECTS).
The traditional German combination of research
and teaching will be implemented.
For students and professors a exchange
program through German Academic Exchange
Service (DAAD) is available.
Study Program:
The GUB will offer Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
degrees in different disciplines. Master of Science and
Ph.D.-programs will also be offered in the future.
Initially there are five Faculties and more than 20
Departments, some of them with their own study
program, some are providing lectures for different

Accreditation:
The curriculum of GUB has been approved by the
UGC of Bangladesh.
Languages:
All course will be in English, additional German
language will be offered.
Academic Session:
The academic years are divided into two semesters.
Each semester consists of 18 weeks The GUB will
follow its holyday list. Daily classes are scheduled
to be held between 8 am to 6 pm. with six days
basis. There will be seminar, workshops & debates
to be organised by the university authority & the
students are required to attend. Furthermore practical
trainings are offered in selected enterprises.
Scholarship:
Up to 100% tuition fee waiver for meritorious
students
Class R ooms:
All the class rooms of GUB are spacious, well
decorated & air-conditioned.
Computer Lab:
Modern PC pool for related courses is available. The
GUB campus is covered with Internet and Wi-Fi
facilities. All Students and Teachers will have access
to the Internet.
Specialised Labs:
GUB has and well equipped laboratories for research
and teaching purposes. There are Labs for General
Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Sciences, Tissue
culture, Microbiology, Mechatronics and Automation.
All labs are designed by the experts & equipped with
modern lab apparatus.
Library:
The GUB library is equipped with books of new
edition and reading materials. E- Library is going to
be started soon.
Canteen and Common Room:
GUB has its own catering service located in the
ground floor to facilitate both male and female
students. The common r oo m i s a l s o available f o r
the teachers
Faculty:
All the study programmes at GUB are conducted
by a group of qualified & experienced faculty
members from Bangladesh and Europe particularly
from different universities of Germany. The teachers
are selected by the panel of experts on the basis of
UGC requirements.
Hostel:
GUB offers well decorated hostel with modern room
facilities for male and female students. The
management of the hostel are being looked after by
the appropriate body of the university.
