1 Thes. 1: 1-5
Somo katika waraka wa kwanza wa Mtume Paulo
kwa Wathesalonike.
Paulo, na Silwano, na Timotheo, kwa kanisa la
Wathesalonike, liliIo katika Mungu Baba, na katika
Bwana Yesu Kristo. Neema na iwe kwenu na amani.
Twamshukuru Mungu siku zote kwa ajili yenu nyote,
tukiwataja katika maombi yetu. Wala hatuachi
kuikumbuka kazi yenu ya imani, na taabu yenu ya
upendo, na saburi yenu ya tumaini lililo katika Bwana
wetu Yesu Kristo, mbele za Mungu Baba yetu. Kwa
maana, ndugu mnaopendwa na Mungu, twajua uteule
wenu; ya kwamba injili yetu haikuwafikia katika
maneno tu, ball na katika nguvu, na katika Roho
Mtakatifu, na uthibitifu mwingi.
Hilo ndilo neno la Mungu.
Tumshukuru Mungu.

Mt. 22:15-21
Somo katika Injili ilivyoandikwa na Mathayo.
Mafarisayo waliendo zao, wakafanya shauri, jinsi ya
kumtega Yesu kwa maneno. Wakatuma kwake
wanafunzi wao pamoja na Maherodi, wakasema,
Mwalimu, twajua ya kuwa wewe u mtu wa kweli, na
njia ya Mungu waifundisha katika kweli, wala hujali
cheo cha mtu awaye yote, kwa maana hutazami sura
za watu. Basi utuambie, Waonaje? Ni halali kumpa
Kaisari kodi, ama sivyo? Lakini Yesu akaufahamu
uovu wao, akasema, Mbona mnanijaribu, enyi
wanafiki? Nionyesheni fedha ya kodi. Nao
wakamletea dinari. Akawaambia, Ni ya nani sanamu
hii, na anwani hii? Wakamwambia, Ni ya Kaisari.
Akawaambia, Basi, mlipeni Kaisari yaliyo ya Kaisari,
na Mungu yaliyo ya Mungu.
Hilo ndilo Injili ya Bwana.
Sifa kwako Eee Kristu.
NASADIKI
Nasadiki kwa Mungu mmoja, /Baba Mwenyezi,/ Mwumba mbingu na nchi,
na vitu vyote vinavyoonekana, na visivyoonekana. Nasadiki kwa Bwana
mmoja Yesu Kristu,/ Mwana wa pekee wa Mungu. Aliyezaliwa kwa
Baba/tangu milele yote. Mungu aliyetoka kwa Mungu,/ mwanga kwa
mwanga,/ Mungu kweli kwa Mungu kweli. Aliyezaliwa bila kuumbwa,/
mwenye umungu mmoja na Baba;/ ambaye vitu vyote vimeumbwa naye.
Ameshuka toka mbinguni kwa ajili yetu sisi wanadamu na kwa ajili ya
wokovu wetu. Akapata mwili kwa uwezo wa Roho Mtakatifu/ kwake yeye
Bikira Maria;/ akawa mwanadamu. Akasulibiwa pia/kwa ajili yetu sisi;
akateswa kwa mamlaka ya Ponsyo Pilato,/ akafa,/ akazikwa. Akafufuka
siku ya tatu/ilivyoandikwa. Akapaa mbinguni;/ amekaa kuume kwa Baba.
Atakuja tena kwa utukufu/kuwahukumu wazima na wafu;/nao ufalme wake
hautakuwa na mwisho./ Nasadiki kwa Roho Mtakatifu,/Bwana mleta
uzima:/atokaye kwa Baba na Mwana./Anayeabudiwa na
kutukuzwa/pamoja na Baba na Mwana:/Aliyenena kwa vinywa vya
Manabii./Nasadiki kwa Kanisa moja, /takatifu, Katoliki, la Mitume./
Naungama ubatizo mmoja kwa maondoleo ya dhambi./Nangojea na

A reading from the prophet Isaiah
Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus,
whom he has taken by his right hand
to subdue nations before him
and strip the loins of kings,
to force gateways before him
that their gates be closed no more:
It is for the sake of my servant Jacob,
of Israel my chosen one,
that I have called you by your name,
conferring a title though you do not know me.
I am the Lord, unrivalled;
there is no other God besides me.
Though you do not know me, I arm you
that men may know from the rising to the
selling of the sun that, apart from me, all is nothing.
This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the
Thessalonians
From Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the Church in
Thessalonika which is in God the Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ; wishing you grace and peace from God
the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We always mention you in our prayers and thank God
for you all, and constantly remember before God our
Father how you have shown your faith in action, worked
for love and persevered through hope, in our Lord
Jesus Christ.
We know, brothers, that God loves you and that you
have been chosen, because when we brought the
Good News to you, it came to you not only as words, but
as power and as the Holy Spirit and as utter conviction.
This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew
The Pharisees went away to work out between them
how to trap Jesus in what he said. And they sent their
disciples to him, together with the Herodians, to say,
"Master, we know that you are an honest man and
teach the way of God in an honest way, and that you are
not afraid of anyone, because a man's rank means
nothing to you. Tell us your opinion, then. Is it permissible to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" But Jesus was
aware of their malice and replied, "You hypocrites! Why
do you set this trap for me? Let me see the money you
pay the tax with.' They handed him a denarius and he
said, 'Whose head is this? Whose name?' 'Caesar's'
they replied. He then said to them, 'Very well, give back
to Caesar what belongs to Caesar - and to God what
belongs to God.'
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

Somo katika kitabu cha Nabii Isaya.
Haya ndiyo Bwana amwambiayo Koreshi, masihi
wake, ambaye nimemshika mkono wake wa kuume, ili
kutiisha mataifa mbele yake, nami nitalegeza viuno vya
wafalme, ili kufungua milango mbele yake, hata
malango hayatafungwa. Kwa ajili ya Yakobo, mtumishi
wangu, na Israeli, mteule wangu, nimekuita kwa jina
lako; nimekupa jina la sifa; ijapokuwa hukunijua. Mimi
ni Bwana, wala hapana mwingine; zaidi yangu mimi
hapana Mungu; nitakufunga mshipi ijapokuwa
hukunijua; ili wapate kujua toka maawio ya jua, na toka
magharibi, ya kuwa hapana mwingine zaidi ya mimi.
