As I begin a six-week series this Sunday morning on the Call to
Revival, the Conflict of Revival, the Concern for Revival, the
Commitment to Revival, the Cause of Revival, and the Coming
of Revival, I will be introducing A 40-Day Guide to Personal
Revival by Alvin L. Reid, Professor of Evangelism at
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. We will have a
printed copy for every member of Dalraida Baptist Church in
attendance this Sunday morning. It is imperative for each of
you to be present to receive your copy so that we may all
begin our journey toward revival and spiritual renewal. The 40
days will begin on Monday and conclude on Friday before our
scheduled services begin on Sunday, November 16th.

This Sunday morning we will introduce the beginning of 40
days of preparation for a genuine movement of the Holy Spirit
of God in a time of revival. Our nation is in desperate need of
a spiritual awakening, the state of Alabama is in desperate
need of a spiritual awakening, and one needs only to open our
eyes and ears to realize that our city and community are in
desperate need of a spiritual awakening. According to the
Word of God, this need in our community and throughout our
nation is dependent upon a revival among the People of God—
the Church.

We have scheduled a series of services in
November, 16-19, for a time of Revival and
Evangelism in Dalraida Baptist Church
Family. Whether or not this will indeed be a
time of revival greatly depends on each of
us. God has promised time and again in His
Word that He will certainly respond to the genuine desires of
His people for Him to do a spiritual work in our midst and in
our community. I understand the Word of God to teach that
promised revival is contingent upon the hearts and activities of
the People of God.

It would be impossible for us to use words in adequately
describing how we feel about the love shown to us by our
church family. From the first time we even met someone from
Dalraida, the genuine love from our brothers and sisters in
Christ has been so evident! We couldn’t even start to name
everyone who was there at the house the day we moved
in….and that was before we had even started our ministry
here. Every time I handed a box down from the truck it was
like I was handing it to a new face that had just arrived to help.
What a testimony to your new staff member and his family!
Then you went above and beyond with our pounding….we
received everything one could imagine to put in our pantry,
which is abundantly filled because of your generosity. The
church motto states “Discover the Dalraida Difference”, well I
can assure you, our family certainly has and we praise God for
His blessings delivered through His loving people, the body of
Christ at Dalraida. We are so grateful and extremely excited to
be a part of that kind of “difference”. We know that God is
going to do mighty works because of His faithfulness to those
who are seeking His will. Please continue to pray for our
family as we serve our Lord together and seek to minister to
each and every one of you!
