In order to complete the recertification process, you are required to complete and pass with a score of 80% or higher on two final exams associated with this workshop: MDS 3.0 updates and MDS 3.0 Common Coding Errors. Once you have passed the two final exams, your certification will be in good standing for an additional two years. AANAC will process and mail a new certificate within 10 to 14 days of completion of the recertification requirements. If you have your MDS 2.0 certification and did not recertify in MDS 3.0 after April 2010, you will need to take the ten course RAC-CT® program. Contact Hours: The American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This workshop is worth 7.5 continuing education credits for nurses. Speaker: SANDY BIGGI, RN, BSN, SNT, RAC-MT, C-NE Sandy Biggi has worked in the area of long-term for over 20 years, serving in numerous capacities including Staff Education, Quality Improvement Director, RAI Coordinator and Director of Nursing Services. She is a Resident Assessment Coordinator-Certified (RAC-CT®) and a Master Trainer for AANAC. From 1999 to 2005, she worked at Leading Age NY as a Senior Policy Analyst where her role included analysis of policy in regulatory, operational and clinical areas and on/off site consulting services for member nursing facilities. As a consultant, she provided audit analysis of MDS and PPS systems and education to improve RAI/PPS process. Sandy did return to Leading Age NY in May 2007 and was appointed to the position of Director of Nursing Facility Policy Analyst before retiring from full time employment. Sandy continues to consult and conduct trainings across the country. Sandy Biggi has no conflict of interest to disclose. PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES This workshop will update the interdisciplinary team members experienced with Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and the skilled nursing facility Prospective Payment System (SNF PPS). Because regulatory changes occur frequently, this course is designed to add to the knowledge base of team members involved in these processes and assist them to perform an accurate resident assessment as mandate by federal regulations. If a student must leave before the activity is scheduled to end or is late arriving, he/she will not receive full CE credits. Partial credit may be awarded. Each attendee, based on sign-in sheets/attendance will receive the CE certificate upon completion of the educational activity. Final exams are not a requirement for claiming a CE certificate for a live workshop. REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION Please register early! AANAC and/or Training Partners are not responsible for any fees incurred due to cancellations or postponement. We will make every effort to abide by our schedule. Attendee cancellations MUST be received in writing. Refunds, minus a $50.00 processing fee will be given up to 7 business days prior to the workshop. Cancellations after that will be refunded half the registration fee only.
