Some features are described in more detail in the following chapters. Please note the “For details see …” cross-references. Campaign Management The following features are new in campaign management: • Campaign date ranges: You can now split a campaign’s life time (total number of days scheduled for a single campaign/flight) into multiple sets of active days (date ranges). For details see Campaign Date Ranges on page 6. • New redirect tags: ADTECH now supports the following third party redirect tags: Banner Management Provider Redirect signature Corsair *.corsair.fr Atlas ad.atdmt.com The following features are new in banner management: • Preferred banner option: If multiple banners of a campaign would be qualified for delivery, you can now predefine banners as Preferred for delivery. For details see Preferred Banner Option on page 11. • Secure banner option: With Release, 1.27.1 ADTECH introduced the secure banner delivery feature. ADTECH has now extended the result table in the Banner Reference Pool of the Advertiser details window by the column S. If a banner was saved as secure banner, the check box in this column is activated. Reporting The following features are new in reporting: • Enhanced Subscription management: With the respective user right non-admin users can now edit an other user’s report subscription, e.g. if a colleague left the company. To enable this user right, please reach out to your network administrator and ask for the “Permission to edit other users’ report subscription”. • New reports for Team permissions: New reports are available, listing the team names. To activate the reports in your network please reach out to your ADTECH CS contact. For details see New Reports for Team Permissions on page 13. Dynamic Ad Call library ADTECH released the DAC.js version 2.4 and introduces the following new feature: ADTECH Mobile The following feature is new in ADTECH Mobile: • Responsive behavior support: Sometimes it is necessary to deliver different banners in the same banner slot, depending on the viewport size. With version 2.4 and responsive behavior support this is now possible. For details see the separate Dynamic Ad Call Library technical guide. • New report link: All reports in networks using ADTECH Mobile now contain a report link that shows traffic data divided by traffic type (Display or App traffic). For details see Enhanced Mobile Reports on page 14. 2014-10-20 Page 4 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 ADTECH Video The following feature is new in ADTECH Video: • Until now it was possible to define, that the same asset will not be repeated in an ad break. With Release 4.1.1, this feature has been enhanced, additionally you can now define, and that only one asset per campaign will be delivered. For details see Video Asset Repeat on page 15. Miscellaneous The following miscellaneous features are new: • Browser Targeting updates: The following browsers are now supported in Online Targeting: Opera 22.x to 23.x • Extended cookie support: ADTECH now supports the synchronization of ADTECH cookies (JEB2 cookies with ADTECH user ID) between multiple top level domains. With this extension ADTECH can consider frequency settings in campaigns also across websites and prevent banners to be shown more often to the same user across different custom ad server URLs than defined in the campaign. Up to 5 domains can be defined in a network. • If a user visits one or more of the defined websites, ADTECH detects this user as known in the list of domains and takes frequency settings across websites in consideration before a banner is displayed to a user. • If a user visits a website not defined in the list of domains, ADTECH detects this user as unknown and sets a new ADTECH cookie on the ad server. • Using this feature requires the setting of custom ad server URLs. For details see Tag Domain Change. • To enable this feature in your network, please reach out to your ADTECH Client Service contact. • Improved Click Fraud protection: With Release 1.29.1, ADTECH introduced several enhancements for click fraud protection. Now, the user interface has been rearranged for these options to make them more user-friendly. The functionality stays the same. For details see Enhanced Click Fraud Protection on page 16. Resolved issues in release 4.1.1 2014-10-20 • Video: In the VAST response of a video campaign, ADTECH has removed the events “replay” and “stop” to make the response VAST compliant. Page 5 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Campaign Date Ranges Introduction With Campaign dates ranges you can split a campaign’s life time (total number of days scheduled for a single campaign/flight) into multiple sets of active days (date ranges). Using the Campaign date range features can make your daily work easier: • Book one flight with multiple date range sets instead of one flight per date range. • Flights automatically start or pause respective the date ranges sets. You no longer have to monitor campaigns to manually set them on hold for a planned break. IMS support for the campaign date range feature The campaign date range feature is activated by default but requires ADTECH IMS Pro for full availability. Depending on whether you use ADTECH IMS Pro or Classic IMS the following features are available: Forecasting System ADTECH IMS Pro Feature Support • The campaign date range feature is fully supported by the ADTECH IMS Pro. • Multiple campaign date range sets can be booked for all campaign types. • To enable ADTECH IMS Pro in your network, please reach out to your ADTECH Client Service contact. Classic IMS • The campaign date range feature is not supported by the Classic IMS. • Campaign types which require Classic IMS support can be booked with one date range only as before (e.g. Guaranteed, SOV or Roadblock campaigns). • Campaign types which do not require Classic IMS support can be booked with multiple date ranges (e.g. Open campaign). Use cases • Your campaign has a total life time of 31 days. During this time your country has some public holidays, where most people will go on vacation. You can create one campaign with two date ranges. Example: • Date Range 1: 12/01/2014 – 12/23/2014 • Date Range 2: 12/27/2014 – 12/31/2014 • Your campaign has a total life time of 2 weeks. During the week it should be active from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but during the weekend it should be active from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can create one campaign with four date ranges. Example: • Date Range 1: 12/08/2014 – 12/12/2014, Weekdays activated from Monday to Friday, Time Ranges set from 09:00 to 14:00 • Date Range 2: 12/13/2014 – 12/14/2014, Weekdays activated Saturday and Sunday, Time Ranges set from 10:00 to 18:00 • Date Range 3: 12/15/2014 – 12/19/2014, Weekdays activated from Monday to Friday, Time Ranges set from 09:00 to 14:00 • Date Range 4: 12/20/2014 – 12/21/2014, Weekdays activated Saturday and Sunday, Time Ranges set from 10:00 to 18:00 2014-10-20 Page 6 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Properties and limitations Rules for scheduling • Date ranges can be scheduled for one or multiple sets of days within the Schedule tab in the campaign/flight booking. • These periods are defined on a full day or minute level (depending on Network features in use). • Date range sets must not overlap. • A campaign must have at least one date range set. • As long as a date range set has not become active, it can be changed or deleted. Example: A campaign with two date range sets has started today. The second date range would become active next week on Monday. The second date range can be deleted until it becomes active. • An active date range set can be changed within all schedule options, except from start date. • An existing campaign can be split into date ranges. Existing schedule options • All standard options of the Schedule tab are supported per date range and remain unchanged. • You can configure different start/end dates, set active weekdays, time ranges and user time zones individually per date range. Delivery and optimization • The campaign date ranges feature is fully supported by ADTECH IMS Pro. Note: The Classic IMS is not supported. • The delivery goal e.g. 100.000 impressions is always defined for the total campaign life time. • Respective the optimizations sets defined in the Volume/Frequency tab e.g. Even, As soon as possible this goal is applied to all campaign date range sets. • Is a non-active date range deleted before or during the campaign became active, the delivery goal calculated for the deleted date range is distributed and moved to the left non-active date ranges. Campaign status The campaign/flight status in the user interface always appears as Active, also on days the campaign/flight was not scheduled for a date range (e.g. “off-time” time between two date ranges). Reporting New reports are available, listing the date ranges. They can be selected in the i-Center > Reports from the respective report section: 2014-10-20 Report Type Report Group Available Reports Network Standard By Flight by Date Ranges Master campaign Standard By Flight by Date Ranges Page 7 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 How to Create Multiple Campaign Date Ranges Introduction Creating multiple campaign date ranges Date ranges can be scheduled for one or multiple sets of days within a campaign/flight booking. You can configure different start/end date, set different active weekdays and set time ranges per date range. Step Action 1 Create a campaign as usual. 2 Go to the Schedule tab to configure the first date range set. For details see Campaign Date Ranges in the Schedule Tab on page 10. 3 Define the Start and End date of the first date range set. Notes: • These periods are defined on a full day or minute level (depending on network features in use). • A campaign/flight must have at least one date range set. 4 Select the Weekdays the campaign will deliver on in this date range. 5 Define the Time Ranges the campaign will deliver in. Example: 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Notes: • • • • The number of daily time ranges is limited to 24 hours. Time ranges need to be in chronological order. Time ranges cannot overlap. Time ranges cannot cross midnight. Example: If you want the campaign to deliver between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. you need to book two time ranges: • From 10 p.m. - 11.59 p.m. • From 0 a.m. - 3 a.m. 6 (optional) 7 (optional) If you like to set more than one time range per delivery day, click the Add time range button. If the delivery to the selected time ranges (see 5) in the date range set should refer to the time zone of the single user this campaign is displayed to, select the User time zone check box. Notes: • User time zone does not refer to the network time zone. • Reporting will still be based on the network time zone. • User time zone is a network feature. To activate please reach out to your ADTECH Client Service contact. • Using this feature requires technical adjustments on the customer’s side. For details see The Schedule Tab. 8 Click Add date range to add the next date ranges in the Schedule tab. Note: Add date range copies the dates and targets from a previous date range set by default until they are changed. 2014-10-20 Page 8 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Step 9 2014-10-20 Action Repeat steps 3 to 8 until you have created all needed date range sets. Notes: • An active date range set cannot be deleted. • If a non-active date range is deleted before or while the campaign is active, the delivery goal calculated for the deleted date range is distributed and moved to the remaining not yet active date ranges. 3 Add date range Adds a new date range set to the Schedule tab. Note: Copies the dates and targets from a previous date range set. 2014-10-20 Page 10 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Preferred Banner Option Deliver a banner as preferred If multiple banners in a campaign qualify for delivery, you can now select banners as Preferred for delivery. In the Edit Banner windows the Preferred banner check box is available for banners booked in campaigns as well as for banners uploaded into the Banner Reference Pool. Existing banner functionalities remain unchanged. Navigation In a campaign go to the Banner tab and click Add banner. Page 11 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Preferred Banner Selection Logic Preferred banner selection logic The ad server will deliver always the preferred banners, if they match the technical requirements. All other banner selection logic remains unchanged. If a preferred banner is disqualified for delivery because a restriction is in use e.g. a banner frequency setting, the ad server delivers another banner. Example use cases The following table shows examples of the banner selection logic for preferred and multiple preferred banner delivery or a non-preferred banner delivery, when a restriction is in use: Use Case The campaign contains two banners of the same size and format. Restriction in Use Banner Selection Logic None The preferred banner delivers always. Banner restriction: Banner frequency capping e.g. 1/hour The preferred banner delivers, respective the frequency setting. For details see Banner Frequency. One banner is selected as preferred for delivery. The non-preferred banner delivers, once the preferred banner was delivered. The campaign contains two banners with different sizes but the same format. None One banner is selected as preferred for delivery (e.g. in size 100x100). The non-preferred banner (e.g. size 468x60) delivers always, because it matches the websites placement size. The requesting website contains no placement tag in the size 100x100 but in the size e.g. 468x60. The campaign contains two banners Banner restriction: of the same size but different format Art Types that classify the banners in Flash e.g. Flash and HTML banners. The Flash banner is selected as pre- and HTML ferred for delivery. The requesting website does not allow Flash banners, and this is defined in the placement’s Art Profile. The campaign contains multiple banners of the same size and format (e.g. 10 banners). Five banners are selected as preferred for delivery. 2014-10-20 The non-preferred HTML banner delivers always, because the preferred banner does not respect the allowed Art type. For details see About Banner Restrictions. Banner Delivery Type: Only the preferred banners In Sequence deliver when the campaign is requested, but follow the selection logic of the Banner Delivery Type in the Banner tab here: In Sequence. New reports are now available, listing the Team names. To activate the reports in your network please reach out to your ADTECH CS contact. Properties and limitations • The Inventory Type of the respective website in the Website details tab has been set to App. • This report link can be sent via email to other users. • To open the report requires an ADTECH user login. 2014-10-20 Page 14 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Video Asset Repeat What’s new? The Additional Options image Sections No. 1 Section Description Asset Repeat in Ad Break The following options are available: • Allowed: Assets can be repeated. • Not Allowed (Asset level): Same assets will not be repeated in an Ad Break. • Not Allowed (Campaign level): Assets of the same campaign will not be repeated in an Ad Break. Example You have a campaign with two assets (A1 & A2). Depending on the “not allowed” settings the delivery behavior will be differently: • Not allowed (Asset level): A1 will not be delivered twice within the same ad break. • Not allowed (Campaign level): Only one asset from a campaign will be delivered within the same ad break (A1 or A2). 2014-10-20 Page 15 of 17 ADTECH Release 4.1.1 Enhanced Click Fraud Protection Introduction With Release 1.29.1, ADTECH introduced several enhancements for click fraud protection. Now, the user interface has been re-arranged to make these options more userfriendly. The functionality remains unchanged. ADTECH offers 3 options for click fraud protection: • Allow AdCounts with impressions found only: Counts AdCounts only if matching impressions was found. • Click Refractory Period (formerly: Custom click interval): Allows to define a minimum click interval, i.e. clicks on a banner will be counted only after a defined duration. • Impression Staleness Window: Defines a duration between impression and click where clicks are recognized as valid. Navigation From the menu bar go to Administration > Network Management > Base Data > Fraud Protection. Fraud Protection image Sections No. Section Description 1 Enable click fraud Enables click fraud logging. logging 2 Allow AdCounts with impressions found only Counts AdCounts only if matching impressions were found. Note: The Use AdCount feature needs to be activated in your campaigns. 3 Click Refractory Period (formerly: minimum click interval) Defines the minimum time allowed between a user clicking twice on the same banner. Clicks within this time window will not be counted. The following options are available: • Opt-out: Disable this click fraud protection option. • ADTECH Default: Sets the ADTECH default value (2 seconds). • Custom (Seconds): Defines a custom value. A text box appears if selected.
