What is a Road Rally? Bring any road-legal vehicle, a friend, and come have some fun on a
Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Road Rally! This is NOT a race. The challenge for the driver and
navigator is to follow directions and to attempt to precisely maintain an assigned average
speed. You will encounter checkpoints along the route where your arrival time will be
recorded. Arrive early (too fast) or late (too slow) and you will collect penalty points. Lowest
score at the end of the rally wins. This event is safe and legal; all speeds are within the
posted limits.
Why do I want to run a Road Rally? A road rally might be for you if you like to drive on back
country roads. If you enjoy finding new ways to use your Smart Phone, Laptop, iPad, or
similar device then you might like the new Tech class. Do you enjoy using your GPS? GPS
units are allowed in all classes and can be helpful to identify the roads you encounter. Maybe
you like to solve puzzles, then a Course Rally might be for you (see below). Do you enjoy
meeting new friends and discussing the event at the finish with food and drink (see below
too). And of course, maybe you’ll win an award!
The Tech Class. Do you want to use your Smart Phone, Laptop, iPAD, etc. to determine
if you’re early or late? Then the tech class might be for you. Go to SJR’s website to see
where you can find APPs, spreadsheets, etc. to help you run in this class. How do you use
your Smart Phone to determine if you’re early or late? There’s an APP for that. The Richta
APP is a popular APP for timekeeping.
At the conclusion of the rally everyone is invited to come into JG Cooks and join us as we
enjoy the food and drink while swapping “war stories” and “outright lies” about the day’s
event. Awards will be presented as soon as the scores are totaled. If you want to join us in a

Two TSD Rallies in one- a simple Tour Rally with very easy to follow Route Instructions. Four
Classes- Equipped, Tech, Stock, and Seat Of Pants. A Course Rally featuring traps with fail safe
loops in case you chose the wrong route. Three Classes- Equipped,Tech,and Stock. Both Rallies will
be around 75 miles long and include spectacular fall scenery and some of Bucks Counties historic
Covered bridges with Pause times to allow for some photo taking. Join us for a great day of rallying in
beautiful Bucks County. Special Awards: Form your own competition group such as Best Chevy
Entrant, Best John’s Sunoco Employee, Best Friends, Best NE Rally Club Member, Best Smith Family
Member, or any common bond that you have. We only require 2 prepaid entries at least one week
before the rally. Then we will get the set of trophies and have them for you at the rally. Special Awards
are in addition to the other awards. Call for more information.

To enter the event, mail completed form (below) and a check payable to SJR-SCCA for the proper
admission to the Registrar. Cost $30 with a $5 discount for prepaying. Note: Fee is $30 or $25. Please
make the check payable to SJR-SCCA. Generals will be sent to all prepaid entries received by October
14 via US mail or October 16 via e-mail. Pre-registration is highly recommended. All minors must have
a Minor Release Waiver signed by both parents/guardians. Please request the Minor Release Waiver in
advance. Note: Included in the entry fee is a weekend membership in SCCA.
