RIALACHA NA FEILE / RULES OF THE FEIS
1. Age as from 1 January 2014
2. Objections must be lodged in writing within 1 hour of the results accompanied with a fee of €20.00.
3. All competitions in all grades and all ages are open to dancers worldwide.
4. Bun Grad confined to dancers who have never won 1st place for that particular dance any age
Group or grade. BASIC STEPS ONLY.
5. Tus Grad confined to dancers who have never won 1st place for that particular dance in any age
In Tus, Mean or Ard Grad.
6. Mean Grad confined to dancers who have never won 1st place for that particular dance
in that age or higher age group in Mean or Ard Grad.
7. Traditional Set Dances: St. Patrick’s Day, the Blackbird, Job of Journeywork, Garden of Daisies,
King of the Fairies, Jockey to the Fair, 3 Sea Captains.
8. Entries only accepted Teachers registered with An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha.
9. Make-up is not permitted to be worn by competitors in Bun and Tus Grad up to and including Under 12
competitors.
10. Bun Grad figure dancing is. Confined to dancers who have never won 1 place for that

11. In ''Rince Eadtrom/ Trom'' competition dancers perform dances in accordance

12. Children in all ages in Bun Grad and Tus Grad Competitions may only wear a class costume,
skirt and blouse or appropriate civilian clothing. Tops must be up to the neck front and back, must have long
sleeves.
Low cut tops or short tight skirts are not permitted.
13. Re-Grading: 1-20 competitors: 1st place regarded.
21-40 competitors: 1st and 2nd place regarded
41+ competitors: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place regarded
14. The Committee as far as practicable will provide a surface floor suitable for dancing. However, the
committee cannot
accept any liability whatsoever for injuries sustained while on stage, or within the practice area.
The lodgment of an entry will be deemed to be an acceptance of this provision by a dancer and by her/his
parent or guardian.
15. The use of artificial carriage aids is strictly forbidden. Any competitor found to be using artificial carriage
aids and subsequently refusing to remove same, will be subject to disqualification from that particular
competition.
Medically prescribed apparatus (proof of which may be required) will be exempt from this ruling.
16. Any form of unauthorised photography which has the capability to capture a dancer’s image whilst in
motion using electronic/manual means e.g. mobile phone, standard camcorder, cine recorder, commercial film
with/without
flash enhancement is expressly forbidden in competition.
17. Parents are responsible for the conduct and behavior of their children at all times whilst attending the Feis
and within and around the Arena.
18. An Coimisiun rules will apply if disputes arise that are not covered by the above rules.
