Worshipful Masters Message
Brethren,
Octobers stated meeting will be move up night. Our Sr. Warden (Kevin LeVan) will be
in the East. It seems just like yesterday I was in the east for move up night. So come on out and
show your support. Also we will be reading the 8 resolutions to be voted on at this year’s grand
annual communications. The resolutions are also available on the grand lodge website.

October is going to be a busy month. Oct 11 is homecoming at the Masonic Home. If you

would like to attend and need a ride please let me know. Also on the 10 and 11 the BBQ
th

team will be at North Carolina Masonic Children’s Home in Oxford NC and on the 17 and 18
they will be at the KCBS contest at the Shenandoah County Fair Grounds in Woodstock Va. This
st
will be the 1 time the BBQ team is competing with the professionals you may have seen on TV.
So if you happen to be around stop by and see us. Additionally we will be having a FC degree on

Monday October 27 @ 7pm.
We are planning to feed families in need again this year at Thanksgiving. The Young
Marines unit from Front Royal will be assisting. Please be on the look out for more information
on how you can assist.
Lastly as a reminder our dues for grand lodge will be increasing by $7 for 2015 dues.
This increase was voted on and approved at the GAC in 2012. This increase is to increase the
contribution to our Masonic Home. With the increase MAHOV will be receiving $10 per
member instead of $3.

Message from the Secretary
Greetings Brethren,
As I look out the window I am reminded that fall is upon us. Once again God
shows his beautiful works as the leaves change, the temperture in the morning has a
little nip in it.But the changes in the seasons is what makes me glad that I live in the
Shenandoah Valley of Va. In my travels and see what I have seen, I'm always glad to
return home. I think that is because I'm geting older and father time lets me know how
thankfull I should be for each passing year.Take time to look over the Trestlboard and
see what is happening at Spurmont each month and through out the District.
Brethren the Grand Secretary had his District Secretary Conferrence on the 22
of September at Spurmont and informed the Secretaries who came about things
happening at Grand Lodge. Our Dues will increase in 2015 by $7.00 dollars. They will
be $80 dollars with a $2.00 voluntary contrubition for the Lodge Widows Fund. This
increase goes to the Masonic Home. So when you receive your Dues notices,this is
what it is all about. If you don't want to pay the increase you can get a Life Membership
and your dues will stay the same.If you want information contact me and I'll tell you
what it will cost.
My thought for the month.I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my
hair turning grey,and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves
on my face. So many have never laughed,and so many have died before their hair
could turn silver.
