Fort Hays safety Micheal Jordan (23) knocks down a pass in the end zone intended for
Emporia State receiver Mitchell Foote (10) late in the first half Saturday in Emporia.
“Huge play by Lindsey
there at the end. We needed
that. Good drop, good break
on the ball and getting the
interception for us,” Brown
said. “Defensively, they really stepped up on those last
couple of drives and made
some things happen.”
Albert finished the game
14 of 29 passing for 235
yards with two touchdowns
and two interceptions. He
had 160 yards passing with
two touchdowns after the first
quarter. Smith led the Tiger
rushers with 70 yards on 16
carries.
While Gaughan had the
98 yards on four catches,
Williams chimed in with 68
yards on four grabs. Junior
linebacker Justin McPhail led
the defense with 15 tackles,
eight solo.
FHSU will return home

17 Pittsburg State, 35-17, on
Saturday. 81 yards on 20 carries, scored

Williams finished his night
with an 18-yard TD run with
8:17 to play. Delton did find
Dryden for a 47-yard score
with 5:49 to play, but it was far
too late for the Indians.
Hays High’s final offensive
numbers weren’t shabby with
441 yards of total offense, but
three interceptions, one a questionable call on a tipped ball
in the end zone, proved costly.
Delton was 14 of 27 passing for 274 yards with three
touchdowns, and had 63 yards
rushing on 11 carries.
Kreutzer finished with six
catches for 123 yards, and
Dryden four for 121 yards.
Hays High returns home
next Friday for senior day, and
will face Abilene (6-1, 0-1),
which is coming off its first loss.

NOTICE OF APPROVAL OF
TERMS OF MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING FOR
ACQUISITION OF RURAL
WATER DISTRICT NO. 5,
ELLIS COUNTY, KANSAS BY
RURAL WATER DISTRICT
NO. 1, ELLSWORTH COUNTY,
KANSAS
On October 14, 2014, the Board
of Directors of Rural Water District
No. 5, Ellis County, Kansas (“RWD
No. 5”) and the Board of Directors
of Rural Water District No. 1,
Ellsworth County, Kansas (“RWD
No. 1”) signed a Memorandum
of Understanding pursuant to the
provisions of Kansas Statutes
Annotated 82a-650. Under the
terms of that Memorandum, RWD
No. 1 would acquire all assets of
RWD No. 5, assume all liabilities
of RWD No. 5, provide service to
all participating members of RWD
No. 5, acquire all area contained
within the boundaries of RWD No.
5 and connect new customers in
conformity with RWD No. 1’s By
Laws and Rules and Regulations.
The Board of RWD No. 5 has
determined that that acquisition
of RWD No. 5 by RWD No. 1 is
desirable for reasons including
the following:
1. Rural
Water
District
No. 1, Ellsworth County,
Kansas (“RWD 1”) has been
successfully operating RWD 5
by contract for some time. The
continued existence of RWD
5 as a separate legal entity is
inefficient and unnecessary.
2. RWD 1 has reliable source
of water, and other resources
necessary to supply the needs
of RWD 1’s existing customers
and RWD 5’s existing customers,
as well as to supply anticipated
growth in the foreseeable
future.
The terms and conditions of the
above-named Memorandum of
Understanding will take effect
unless, within 60 days after the
date of this Notice is first published,
there is presented to the Board of
Directors of RWD No. 5 a written
petition signed by not less than
10% of the participating members
of RWD No. 5, requesting an
election on whether the terms of
the Memorandum shall take effect.
If such a petition is presented to
the Board of Directors of RWD
No. 5, an election will be held and
the terms of the Memorandum
will not take effect unless they
are approved by a majority of the
participating members of RWD
No. 5 voting in such election.
