A This checklist is to help you avoid some of the common mistakes which result in RLE 1s being rejected as incomplete.
B Please read the relevant sections of the RLE 1 Guidance.
C This checklist is for your own use. Do not return it to us with your RLE 1 form.

When completing an RLE 1 please make sure:
Part A: You've written your SBI correctly if it's not preprinted.
Part A: You've written 'RDPE' on the front of the form below the general details if you're claiming under a Rural
Development Scheme such as the Woodland Grant Scheme (run by the Forestry Commission) or Entry Level
Stewardship (run by Natural England).
Part F:
The form is signed by a correctly empowered person. To find out about the different levels of empowerment, go to
www.gov.uk and type ‘Empower an agent with the RPA’ into the search box. The form needs an original signature.
Part F:
You've not altered the preprinted part of this section or we'll reject your form.
If you make a mistake, write your initials and the date next to any amendments you've made on the form. For boxes with an
‘X’, you've completely filled in the square box containing your mistake.

Transferring land, registering new land or changing field boundaries:
Make sure you've attached a map with a visible scale showing any changes clearly marked with a fine tipped pen, not a
highlighter. If possible using an RLR map. A map isn't required when you are transferring land and there are no other changes
to the land. Also:
•
If your boundary change affects a neighbouring farmer, they need to agree the change before we can amend your
maps. Contacting them to confirm their agreement often causes a delay to us updating your maps. If you include your
neighbour’s SBI, name and their signed agreement with your RLE 1 we can update your maps quicker.
•
Any measurements on the map are taken from a readable point such as an existing boundary.
•
A description is added to the map for any ineligible features marked, for example, a track or non grazed woodland.
D1: You've filled in the field number for every land parcel except when registering new land.
D4: You've filled in an action code for the land parcels listed. For land transfers leave D4 blank.
