Growth Drivers Case Study: HMDS Program of Record

Originally funded to satisfy an urgent operational
requirement in Iraq and Afghanistan, over 230 systems
were in use with US, Canadian, Australian, and Spanish
militaries.
Recognised as a critical requirement in the protection of
troops, the system is now in the process of transitioning
through a customer funded R&D phase before becoming
a baseline item in the US Department of Defense budget
(a Program of Record).
Reduced demand from the US DoD during this R&D
phase will be off-set by International sales, most recently
Turkey.
Over 600 systems are expected to be delivered to the US
DoD with full rate production commencing in FY17.
This secures the position of the HMDS as an enduring
capability for the US military over the next ten to fifteen
years.
