STEWARDSHIP
REFLECTIONS
26 October 2014
30th Sunday Ordinary Time
“Whoever sacrifices to any god, save to the Lord
only, shall be utterly destroyed.” – Exodus 22:20
Do you put other ―gods‖ before God? Is your love
of money, power, status or some personal possession greater than your love for God? If so, you
may want to pay
attention to the scripture reading because you
are not going to like the outcome. The good news
– it‘s not too late to put God first in your life.

in a Nutshell
Today‘s Gospel expounds two great
commandments: love of God and
neighbour. No law, no ritual, no
intellectual prowess, no
sophisticated program can ever
supersede the call to love which is
at the heart of the Gospel message.
This is the answer Jesus gives to
those who try to trap him with their
politics and religious rhetoric.
A Simple Prayer for Today
Father, you love never fails
Hear our call
Keep us from danger and
provide for all our needs.
Amen

THE BIBLE STUDY GROUP
Both meetings will be held in the Parish Community Centre and all
are welcome. These meetings are for anyone who has an
interest in the Bible. If you have not studied the Bible in depth ,
then these sessions are for you. The studies are intended to bring
the Bible alive and to highlight what Jesus wants of us. We will
meet Jesus on Judgement day, let us make sure we will be ready.
As Jesus says in
Matthew 13: 49/50 "This is how it will be at the end of the age.
The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous
and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping
and gnashing of teeth ".
You may have heard it said :- God loves us so much that all will be
saved. This statement is NOT TRUE and is not in the Bible.
The meeting on Wednesday will be held from 7.00 pm until
8.30 pm. The meeting on Thursday will be held from 9.30 am until
12 noon.

Brandon Vogt
Author of The Saints Favourite

―If our aim is evangelization, then
like Cyril and Methodius we must
study today‘s language. And by
‗language‘ I don‘t just mean
words; I mean the tone, the style,
and the form. For it‘s only once
we understand and speak the
language of modern man that we
can evangelize him.‖
