KIDS ARE SPECIAL AT ST CUTHBERT’S
Children at Church
Clayton View Primary School Literacy Programme
Each Sunday at our 9am service, children are fully included.
On the first, second and fourth Sundays of each month,
children engage with scripture and spirituality using Godly
Play, a creative, hands-on approach to storytelling and
reflection. On the third Sunday of each month, children take
an active role in leading the liturgy by reading scripture,
praying, serving in the sanctuary and fulfilling practical
tasks. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend any
Sunday at 9am with their children.
Each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, a group of more
than fifteen volunteers visit Clayton View Primary School to
read with children. This intensive focused time of reading
between 8.30am-9.00am has already produced improved
literacy results for students, and strong bonds have been
formed between students and volunteers.
If you would like to join in, please contact Sue Young on
9299 7354.
Mainly Music returns Tuesday 11 February at 9.30am in
St Cuthbert’s Parish Centre.
There is singing, percussion, movement and story time from
9.30am to 10am followed by morning tea and play time with
toys for the children and coffee, nibbles and conversation for
the parents/carers. Families leave when they are ready, usually
around 11am.You can find out more at hillsanglicans.com.
