Former White House Advisor Joins Guidepost Solutions
J. Keith Ausbrook Joins D.C. Office
Washington, D.C. – October 21, 2014 – Former White House Advisor, J. Keith Ausbrook recently
joined the Washington, D.C. office of Guidepost Solutions LLC, a leading investigations,
security and technology consulting, and monitoring and compliance services company.
Ausbrook will be a key team member on the firm’s high-profile monitoring and compliance
engagements and support its business development efforts for investigative, compliance and
consulting services.

Ausbrook has extensive experience conducting government investigations, managing complex
crises, implementing investigative and legal strategies, and advising senior government officials
on legal and political implications. Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, he was general counsel
and a senior vice president at CDS LLC where he served as a legal advisor to CDS and provided
advice to its government and private sector clients. Previously, Ausbrook had a long and
distinguished career with the federal government including service on the Homeland Security
Council staff at the White House advising the President of the United States on homeland
security and counterterrorism policies.
Ausbrook’s additional government service includes managing the Congressional investigation
of the preparation for and response to Hurricane Katrina as the Special Counsel to the select
committee of Members of Congress; supervising teams of lawyers who conducted oversight
and investigations and worked on legislation to implement the 9/11 Commission
recommendations during his tenure as Chief Counsel on the House Government Reform and
Oversight Committee; serving as the Chief Oversight Counsel for the House Judiciary
Committee following the September 11 attacks where he was deeply involved in the
implementation of the USA PATRIOT Act and other counterterrorism measures ; and serving as
Deputy Independent Counsel in the U.S. Office of the Independent Counsel where he managed
staff working on highly visible and sensitive investigations.

Ausbrook is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
District of Columbia Circuit, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Virginia State Bar. He
received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Classics at Princeton University.
