Paddy O’Byrne Kilmacud TO ALL PARISH VOLUNTEERS As you are aware, three years ago we began the process of Garda vetting for every volunteer in the parish. This was in line with guidelines supplied by the Dublin Diocese. The process must be renewed every three years and so we will begin supplying Garda Vetting Forms, and Parish Volunteer forms, to every volunteer, on a phased basis, shortly. However, before that process is initiated, the Parish Pastoral Council has arranged two information meetings on Tuesday November 11th and Tuesday 25th at & 7.30pm in the Parish Community Centre presented by Mr Andrew Fagan and Fr. Paddy Boyle from the Child Safeguarding Office in the Diocese. Every volunteer is required to attend one meeting and will be invited to sign in on the night of the meeting. If someone, for a valid reason, cannot attend either meeting they must contact me and one further meeting will be organised. Failure to attend any Sr. Catherine Greene Kilmacud meeting will render a volunteer unable to be considered a registered volunteer. PARISH OFFICE The Safeguarding Policy in the parish can allow for no exceptions as the protection of children is paramount MONDAY – FRIDAY 9am – 11.30am PARISH SECRETARY Rosemary Dempsey Tel. 2881271 E.mountmerrionparishoffic [email protected] COMMUNITY CENTRE Tel. 2884485 E.mountmerrioncommu and must remain the main priority of our parish life. Finally, by now all registered volunteers will have received an invitation to our Volunteer Party in November. The invitation has gone to all those who have completed the Garda Vetting and Parish volunteer process. However, if for some administrative omission a volunteer has not received an invitation, they can notify the parish office. With thanks for all your commitment to the life of the parish. Fr.
