About the Newsletter:
For those of you who didn't make it to our September
Membership Meeting, you missed a good one. The
Liederkranz Alpenrose Schuhplattler Dancers gave us
a wonderful program that everyone seemed to really
enjoy.
Our next regular Membership Meeting in November
promises to be a great one as well. Don Benninger
has arranged for members of the 10th Mountain Division to join us. If you don't know what that is, you'll
just have to show up in November to hear their stories.
This month's not-to-be-missed event is our annual
Central PA Ski Expo on Friday October 24. You'll
have the opportunity to talk with Mountain Reps and
Tour Operators from all over the country, including
most of the mountains we will be visiting this winter. They just might help you decide which trips to
sign up for. There will be many valuable prizes and
giveaways, so don't miss out on the fun!
Not to sound like a broken record, but we are approaching cutoff dates for some of our trips, so I again
want to urge you not to wait to get signed up for
trips. Act now before you miss the boat (or bus in this
case).

Trip Committee Update:
The Trip Committee would like to thank everyone that has already signed up for a trip this coming ski/
boarding season!!
Although the Telluride trip is sold out, please contact Devera Kazmerski if you would like to get on the waiting list.
Roger Brubaker still has some space available on the Schweitzer trip in March. Why Choose Schweitzer
Mountain Resort? 2900 acres of terrain, among the largest areas in the US! This is a great destination and
March in Idaho = their biggest time of the year for snowfall. Cutoff is November 1st.
This year we have a combined trip with the Merck Ski Association which is a tour of the Northeast February 4
-8, 2015 to Jay Peak, VT and Eastern Townships, Canada. Bus will have WIFI and electrical outlets, so if
you can “work remotely”, you can use the Wednesday travel day as a “work from home day.” Please contact
Stefanie Stoyanov or Jon Doman ASAP to sign up. Spots are going fast! *Valid Passport Required!
Reminder: When signing up for a major trip, include a copy of your driver’s license or passport along with
your deposit check and signed trip application. *Passport expiration timeframes and travel restrictions have
changed. Speak to your trip leader for the latest details for your trip.
Vermont, here we come! Join us February 20-22, 2015 for a weekend in Okemo, VT. Trip leaves Lancaster
on Friday around 4:30 pm and returns Sunday night. This trip will go on sale at the September Membership
meeting: Thursday September 18, 2014.
Please note: Trip leaders will place only two per room (double occup.) and will do their best to room people
together. Please note: roommates may be assigned and/or single supplement fees may be applied if no roommate is identified on your trip paperwork.

and Seven Springs on Friday, March 6, 2015. We are also looking at running a day “carpool” trip to Whitetail
Mt. Please let me know if anyone may have an interest in that trip.
