Under the auspices of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Chess,
the SEKKAT Foundation and Raja Athletic Club (Section chess)
organize
the 8th International Trophy Mohammed Sekkat of Chess
from 17 to 21 November 2014 .
Marrakech, Morocco
The tournament will be held at the Hotel Ryad Mogador Menara ( 5 *) in Marrakech on
November 17 ( arrival ) to 22 November 2014 (date of departure).
1. Event includes:
• The International Open and national players with a federal license or and ID FIDE .
• Open Tournament Seniors (50 years and older) with a federal license for the 2014
season ( Championship Morocco ) .If where the number of participants does not
reach a minimum of 8 players , the organizing committee reserves the right to hold an
open round-robin or integrate them in the international open , prizes, dedicated to
veterans, will be determined by the organizing committee.
• Photographic exhibition of the late Mohammed Sekkat .

1-1 Terms

Registration forms (see model below ) must be carefully completed and forwarded to
the organizing committee , which reserves the right of acceptance. New players who
are neither licensed in 2014 or The FIDE ID can ask the subject to pay 60 € directly to
FIDE or dh 700 , Through the federation under Article 03 Regulations on Registration &
Licensing of Players FIDE .
2. Homologation
Both tournaments are approved by FIDE .
3 Rules
The general rules of FIDE (2014) will be applied and published.

1st prize: 2 0000 DH + TROPHY SEKKAT
2nd prize : 15000 DH

9th prize : 1500 DH ( ladies Top Player )
10th prize : 1500 DH ( boys best player under 16 )
11th prize : 1000 DH ( best player - ladies- age 16 )
12th prize : 1000 DH ( best player - boys will be under 12 )
13th prize : 500 DH ( best player - girl- 12 years old )
14th prize : 2000 DH ( best player Moroccan with between 2000 and 2200 international
elo )
15th prize : 1000 DH ( best national élo )

5th prize : 500 DH
5 Entry fee and participation
DH 450 per player.
6 Accommodation and food
Guests will be accommodated full board , subject to availability of 17 to 22 November
2014 , in Hotel Ryad Mogador Menara , Marrakech.
National participants outside Marrakech residents may stay for free in residences to 18 (
dinner) to 22 ( lunch ) November 2014 on condition that the accommodation and
catering request is made expressly to the registration form.

7 airport transfer.
The transfer of foreign participants is on the responsibility of the organizing committee of
the airport ( Marrakech Menara to the hotel ) upon arrival and departure.
8 Listings
The registration period will end November 16, 2014 à 18 hours, deadline.

The participation fee is received by the organizing committee, upon return of the 450
DH secretariat against a receipt , the day of arrival, necessarily before the launch of the
first round .
9. Parallel Activities
The organizing committee will organize several parallel activities.
10. rules
The event will be held under the rules of FIDE.
The international open will be played on :
9 rounds Swiss system.
The open Veterans
The number of rounds will be determined based on the number of participants.
Time control : 90 minutes with 30 seconds increment per move ( Fisher system ),
electronic DGT clocks will be used to control time.
The swiss manager software will be used for paring.
Offer draw void is only accepted after having played 30 moves .
The zero tolerance is applied, any player not present at the arbiter signal will lose the
game by forfeit.
Any player who is absent twice during the tournament without a valid reason will be
eliminated from the event.

Sonneborn system.
12. Share prizes
the Hort system will be used .
13. The chief arbiter and the Appeal Board
The International Open is arbitrated by the arbiter : M.Akkour Abdelfattah .I.A, ID:
9001964
Who will be assisted by ranks arbiters(AI , F.A and N.A) .
The Appeal Board is established for each event 5 people: Tournament Director , the
chief arbiter and three players with a good knowledge of new FIDE rules .
Any objection must be made in writing for the Chief arbiter within 1 hour before the start
of the next round , accompanied by a deposit of € 50 or 500 DH . After deliberation if
the contestant was right the amount deposited rightful . A form will be made available
to contestants .
