*CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
SCRIPT COMPETITION 2014
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Screenplay idea/story must be standard feature film & T.V. serial script (1-4 pages)
• Screenplays should not have been entered or have won completion awards at other festivals.
• Screenplays must be copyrighted and must be the original work of the applicant.
• Screenplays must be in English.
• Screenplays must be completed by the entry deadline.
•Applicant must be over the age of 16.
ENTRY PROCEDURE:
• Screenplays must have a title page that includes only the title. The applicant's name should not appear on
the cover or any other page of the screenplay. Judges will not be aware of the entrant's name.
• Entry must include an application. Please keep a copy of your completed application form for reference.
• For confirmation that we received your entry, include a self-addressed stamped postcard or envelope.
• There is no limit to the number of entries per entrant, provided there are separate applications.
• The Festival is not responsible for screenplays lost or damaged in transit.
• Screenplays will not be returned.
• Please make a copy of your screenplay for your files.
GENERAL RULES
1. Submissions must be in English.
2. Scripts should be copyrighted.
3. Applicants may enter more than one script.
4. The FNU Film & TV Script Competition is in 5 stages.
Stage 1 - Inviting detailed “Ideas/story” (Submission closing date: 25th October 2014)
Stage 2 - Workshop (The selected candidates will sit through a ‘One-day Workshop’ on the Process &
Style of Screenplay Writing, held by the FNU Film & TV Department.)
Stage 3 - Script Development:
The selected candidates will be asked to write their respective scripts according to the
following formats.
i. Feature Film Script - Duration 1 hour and 20 mins.
ii. T.V. Serial of at least One Season – Equivalent to 13 episodes.
Each episode should be of a duration of 22 mins.
Stage 04 - Script Selections.
Stage 05 - Prizes & Awards, to be announced on 21st March, 2015, will be as follows:
1. Script selected for production: FJ $2,500
2. Script selected and kept in reserve for production: FJ$1,500
3. All selected “Ideas”: FJ $250
NOTE : All selected script writers will sign a legal agreement handing over the ‘Filming Rights’ to Fiji National University. The scripts will become the property of FNU thereafter. However, the ‘Writers’ would be given due acknowledgment in the credits of produced Films & T.V. serials.
