Competitors must ensure that they hold adequate third party insurance cover in respect of any accident
caused by themselves, their family, or helpers, their vehicles or animals when on the showground.
THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.
The organisers, owners of the showground, or any of the committee, officers, servants or assistants
shall not in any way be responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage that may happen (for
any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their assistants or any member of the public, to
any animal or property or to any vehicle brought on to the showground, or any premises used in
conjunction with or arising out of or attainable to the show. It shall be a condition of entry that each
entrant or spectator shall indemnify the show organisers against such matters aforesaid.
Everyone in attendance at this event must abide by the instructions given by officials.
WPCS rules, NPS rules and Ponies (UK) rules will apply to applicable classes. Please ensure you are
familiar with these rules before signing the entry form.
All ridden ponies must be four years old and over and registered in their respective stud books,
including Part Breds. Competitors are reminded that it is a legal requirement for passports to be
carried when transporting ponies.
All objections must be lodged with the Secretary within 30 minutes of the disputed event and
confirmed in writing, with a deposit of £20. This will be returned should the objection be upheld.
Please note; no Judge may be approached directly regarding an objection.
Entry fees will only be refunded at the discretion of the committee. Should the show be cancelled for
whatever reason, SEWPCA reserve the right to retain 25% of the entry fees to cover administration
cost.
No clearing out of horse boxes/ trailers, etc. is allowed on the showground; this includes any litter.
Anyone displaying aggressive, rude or threatening behaviour towards judges, show officials or other
competitors will immediately be ejected from the showground, banned from future SEWPCA shows and if a
SEWPCA member, their membership will be cancelled forthwith with no right of appeal and without
refund of any entries or subscriptions.
The Committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without giving reason, to change judges or to
amalgamate/split classes if entries warrant.
All entries must be fully registered in their section of the Welsh Stud Book, with the exception of foals
which must however be eligible for registration. All foals must be at least 3 weeks old. (Applies to
shows with inhand classes).
All ponies and cobs must comply with the WPCS height limits.
All colts and stallions must comply with the WPCS rules. This includes ridden stallions.
An exhibitor may not enter a pony in any class which is to be judged by a person who has bred, sold,
leased, produced or has had any financial gain from that animal.
All exhibits will enter and leave the ring at a walk.
Hard hats must be worn at all times when mounted on the showground and be to BSEN1384 or
PAS015 standards. No top hats allowed, and suitable footwear must be worn.
We advise you to wear body protectors.
No spurs allowed except in dressage classes.
No whips or canes to exceed 75cms (30 inches).
No plaiting in any class (except for small plait behind the ear), with the exception of the Part-Bred
ponies where plaiting is optional.
Trophies will only be awarded to fully paid up members of SEWPCA and must be signed for and
returned in the same condition upon request. PLEASE NOTE; Trophies will only be awarded to
competitors who are members of SEWPCA .
All dogs must be kept on leads.
Only licensed DVLA drivers are allowed to drive motorised vehicles on the showground.
No pony under the age of 4 yrs old is allowed to be shown in the ring by exhibitors under the age of 11
years old.

I.E. £13.00 PER CLASS SEWPCA MEMBERS, £20.00 FOR NON MEMBERS, CASH
ONLY. + your first aid due… If this is not paid, you will not be covered in the event of an
accident.

NPS/LEYHILLS M&M IN-HAND WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP
This Competition is open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered in the main body of their respective
Mountain & Moorland Stud Books.
At Foal Shows, the first three ponies in each class will qualify for the Yearling Final at the Spring Festival.
Handler any age, except for stallions or colts where the handler must be 14 years of age or over.
NPS Winter Championship Qualifying Rounds
This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society and the NPS affiliated classes will be run under NPS
rules. Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become
members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival 2015. The NPS General Rules for Showing apply (see
NPS website for details). In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first
six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2014/2015 Novice and Pure Novice Winter Championships will not
debar ponies from the NPS 2015 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions.
“1st, 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies will qualify in each qualifying class for the P(UK) Winter Classic 2015
and the P(UK) Supreme Championships 2015.

snaffle bit, the leading rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to
the rider’s hands. (Riders must not have attained their 9th birthday by 1st January in the current year).

SP/SHP – Plaited NOVICE Lead Rein Class. Not exceeding 122cms. Pony not to have won a
first prize in any Leading Rein class. To be shown in a snaffle bit, the leading rein must be attached to the

qualifier for S08 P(UK) BRINETON M&M FIRST RIDDEN CLASSIC & SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP &
EQUIFEST/ NATALIE BIRD MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND FIRST RIDDEN. This Competition is open to mares
and geldings four years old or over, registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland
Stud Book. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A & B. Not exceeding 128cms.
(Riders must not have attained their 12th birthday by 1st January in the current year).

EQUIFEST / WELLBURY PARK STUD & RIDEWAY VET PHYSIO SHOW PONY FIRST
RIDDEN & EQUIFEST SHOW HUNTER PONY.
First Ridden Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cm. Riders not to have attained
their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.
Class 41a MINI CHAMPIONSHIP. 1ST and 2nd prizewinners from Classes 34 – 41
will be required to take part in this championship.
CLASS 42 S06 P(UK) DALKEITH YOUNG RIDERS M&M RIDDEN CLASSIC & SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP
class & is a qualifier for EQUIFEST/JOHN PATON JUNIOR RIDDEN M & M . Mountain & Moorland,
Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over Registered in their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of
Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fell,Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Rider not to
have attained their 25th birthday before January in the current year. (See Rule 7 of the current P (UK) Rule
Book). This class will be split dependant on entries.
CLASS 43 S09 P(UK) AMATEUR RIDERS RIDDEN M&M CLASSIC & SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP class
Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over registered in the Pure Breed Society Stud Books of
Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh Sections A, B, C & D
Rider any age. Please see rule 25 of the current P(UK) Rule Book.
CLASS 44 NPS SHOW PONY/SHOW HUNTER PONY NOVICE RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP – (SUMMER
FINAL) One Class… will be split if sufficient entries. Highlight on entry form.
This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. Ponies must be registered in
the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the
BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and
Moorland stud books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book,
Register or Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Pony not to have qualified for RIHS
or HOYS. Pony not to have been placed first in any Affiliated Ridden Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Class
(excluding Leading Rein or First Ridden). All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bit.
Up to three classes as follows: (Classes may be amalgamated) Class 1 Ponies not exceeding 128cms.
Class 2 Ponies exceeding 128cms but not exceeding 138cms. Class 3 Ponies exceeding 138cms but not
exceeding 148cms If classes are amalgamated the highest placed pony from each height group will qualify.
