Quote of the Month
"Without doubt one is allowed to resist against the unjust aggressor to
one's life, one's goods or one's physical integrity; sometimes, even 'til the
aggressor’s death.... In fact, this act is aimed at preserving one’s life or
one’s goods and to make the aggressor powerless. Thus, it is a good act,
which is the right of the victim."

We are changing to a new database. While exporting electronically transferred a good part, some parts
have to be transferred manually (by humans!) Thus, there will be some errors! Please judge us by how fast
we correct errors, not that they were made For those few that had a past due balance-you will receive 2 invoices-both must be paid for you to be current Please use the return envelope that will come with your invoice Please direct all questions to [email protected].
If you did a workday and credit is not shown - either send in a copy of your workday card with a check for
the lower amount, or have whoever you did the workday for email me you did it. These are the only 2 acceptable ways to deal with that problem-do not call, email or send me a note to track down your workday - I
do not have time to do it
New dues: associate $200, voting $190, silver & spouse $25

Air Rifle $ Pistol
We have had shooters show up with just about every kind of air gun at the matches, from the single stroke
pneumatics and the ones cocked by breaking open the barrel, to the modern PCP guns.
We shoot at 18 yards from a bench and use guns with a pretty powerful scope - you need at least a 9X to
see the tiny targets.
Up until this time, we have only had two classes: rifle and pistol, with many of the shooters finally investing
in a nice PCP gun (pre-charged pneumatic), which is powered from a scuba tank of air.
In order to make it possible for everyone to participate and be competitive, we are starting a "Production"
class, for shooters who have a less expensive gun....one you may have purchased at Academy or
Walmart, which didn't cost you an arm or a leg.
Our shooting is done on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. We shoot three short matches and are through by
11:00 a.m. All you need to shoot besides your scoped gun is some kind of front and back rest and some
pellets. The entry fee is just $2 and the ammo is readily available and cheap, making this kind of shooting
easy on the pocketbook. Besides that, we never have to worry about the weather, since we get to shoot
inside our nice club house.
This is an excellent time to begin shooting with us, since we have just finished our Spring/Summer season
and are beginning our Fall/Winter matches which will run until Thanksgiving. When you come shoot with
us, you are sure to get plenty of friendly help getting you started.
Muzzleloader
The start of Muzzleloader season didn't stop six of us to come out and shoot our first "All Steel" Match.
Dell M. was the Steel Master leaving the rest of us in the dust.
For the next All Steel Match we are working on more and better targets.
Our next Match is our annual "Turkey Shoot" on Nov. 30th and the Pistol Match will start at 10:00 and the
Rifle at 11:00

IMPORTANT NEWS: Use extra caution entering the ranges! Some idiot is periodically
spreading roofing nails at the entrances to the ranges (at least the Action Shooting and Shotgun
ranges). Several members have gone over the areas with magnets and visual sweeps; I have personally picked up several dozen nails (by hand, not using my tires, fortunately). Others have not
been so lucky and have reported flats with roofing nails. Since it appears to have happened more
than once, we have a repeat offender. Please report any incidents.
With the shift to Practiscore software, we now have the capability to post interim match results during our IPSC matches and I’ve been doing that for several months. Unfortunately, the Practiscore
website doesn’t seem to have good search capability. From here out, I will post to Practiscore with
the match name always starting with OKCGC, so the search will quickly bring up those results if
you search by that word. I put INTERIM RESULTS in the notes box during the match so everyone
knows they aren’t the finals. All that said, the OKC Gun Club website is the authoritative source for
match results.
In response to several requests, a number of target stands are staged in the north bays for use by
club members. Please KEEP THEM UP AT THE NORTH END, and clean up after yourself.
Our next monthly IPSC match will be November 1st. ALWAYS CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR LAST
MINUTE UPDATES & SCORES.

Steel Challenge
Perfect fall shooting conditions on Saturday Oct 25 brought out several top shooters for the final
2014 AR Steel Challenge match, where several course records were broken. The short course
match brought two perfect 20x20 scores posted by Mike Elston with his .223 and Glenn Blanton with
his 6.5 Lapua. Mike edged out Glenn in a 400 meter shoot off (no practice shots allowed) giving
Mike the win in the short range contest. The rapid fire short range contest brought an exciting finish
with Glenn Blanton kicking of a perfect 20x20 in 52 seconds. Then, Dan Bailey immediately set a
new course record with 20x20 in 48 seconds beating the previous course record by 2 seconds with
his Les Baer 223. Next, Mike Elston shocked everyone by shattering all the previous records by
shooting a perfect 20x20 in a mind blowing 44 seconds. Mike's new course record posted a hit every
2.2 seconds - shooting 5 @ 300 meters, 5 @ 200 meters, 5 @ 150 meters, and 5 @ 100 meters,
using a Mossberg .223 AR-15. Great job Mike!
In the long range contest, Glenn Blanton kicked off the match with a 19x20 score using his 6.5
Lapua, followed by Dan Bailey also shooting a near perfect 19x20 for a tie of the best long range
scores. In a 500 meter shoot off, Dan edged out Glenn by hitting 4x5 to Glenn's 3x5, giving Dan the
long range win.
Total scores over the three courses of fire placed Glenn Blanton in the lead for overall three gun
match win with a score of 59x60 for a new across the course 3 gun record (previous record was
57x60), missing only one shot at 500 meters.
For the 2014 season overall, Mike Elston sealed the AR Steel Top Shot Champion position with a
commanding lead, by posting 353 hits out of a possible 420 giving him a 84% hit average for the entire 2014 season.
Congratulations to Mike Elston for a great 2014 season of AR Steel shooting!
The AR Steel Challenge match is held the last Saturday of the month (unless there is a conflict) from
March through October on the silhouette range. The competition is open to the public so everyone is
welcome. $20 gets three entry cards for short, long and rapid fire AR competition with 20 rounds
shot at each course. Any caliber of AR rifle is acceptable with any sights. Practice sighters and safety briefing starts at 9am. New shooters are always welcome, so bring plenty of ammo.
The next AR Steel Challenge match will be next spring on March 28 2015, we will see you then!
