OKC Gun Club hosted the State 4-H Skeet Shoot on Saturday, September 26th. The event was attended
by 136 youth shotgun shooters representing 22 counties from the state. The weather was perfect!!! The
Oklahoma County 4-H shotgun shooters did extremely well!!! Congratulations!!!

Action Pistol Division
The 2015 Oklahoma Open, Limited & Revolver Sectional is in the books – 130 shooters competing in a 1-day,
10 stage format. That sets the record for OKC Gun Club for a Sectional turnout, and lots of nice things were
being said about how the match ran. Kudos to Greg Goode and Mike Pinto for leading the whole affair and
many thanks to all those who worked to help make it run so well. Awesome job, folks!
Six of the stages – at least the bare bones of them – were left in place from the Sectional to be used for the
September IPSC match the next weekend. We altered the stages (significantly) and 66 shooters turned out
for the match. Wonderful weather, lots of rounds and the match was over about 3PM.

Website Makeover
In March, the club implemented a new website. More than a much-needed

SAFETY ALERT ON ACTION SHOOTING RANGES: We had someone shooting
slugs at cardboard IPSC targets sometime over the July weekend – that’s fine, but
they also hit steel hardcover which was about 8 or 9 meters downrange.
That is unsafe; it also tears up the steel…..
DO NOT SHOOT OUR STEEL WITH SLUGS
OR CENTERFIRE RIFLE (yes, .22LR is fine)!!!
There is insufficient distance available in our bays and much of our steel cannot take
that kind of beating – it’s destructive and more importantly, a safety issue.
Want to shoot 223/308/7.62x39/30-06 and slugs?
Great, use cardboard targets.
Want to shoot steel with your shotgun?
Great, use shot #7 or higher.
The last thing we want is for someone to get hurt!

GUN". IT IS FOR .177 CALIBER GUNS THAT COST LESS THAN $750. WE CALL
THE OTHER CLASS "UNLIMITED", WHICH IS WITHOUT LIMITATIONS.
OUR SHOOTERS ARE REASONABLY DIVIDED IN THEIR CLASS PARTICIPATION. CURRENTLY, OUR TROPHIES ARE SILVER COINS, GIVEN BOTH ON A
