While exporting electronically transferred a good part, some parts have to be transferred manually (by humans!) Thus, there will be some errors! Please judge us by how fast we correct errors, not that they were made For those few that had a past due balance-‐you will receive 2 invoices-‐both must be paid for you to be current Please use the return envelope that will come with your invoice Please direct all questions to [email protected]. If you did a workday and credit is not shown -‐ either send in a copy of your workday card with a check for the lower amount, or have whoever you did the workday for email me you did it. These are the only 2 acceptable ways to deal with that problem-‐do not call, email or send me a note to track down your workday -‐ I do not have time to do it New dues: associate $200, voting $190, silver & spouse $25 Workday credit remains at $80 Bill Norfleet MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN Muzzleloaders I want to know if there are those still interested in shooting Muzzleloaders? I am willing to be the Division Chair and do the paperwork but I would need others to help. My proposal is to have the match on the last Sunday of each month starting in June and running through December (weather permitting). The format would change each month. Paper targets, a Rendezvous, Metal swinger, and Silhouette matches. Please let me know by e-mail if you are interested and willing to shoot on those dates? I will contact you via e-mail if the Matches are a go or not. 4 Ron Doggett [email protected] 942-0488 June 2014 Primer Tornado Alley Shoot Off Here's the scoop on the match; the match was filled up this year and the competition was as fierce as ever. The Match Director, Dave Crossno, ordered up some nice weather, though the wind/mirage was tricky at times, BUT NO TORNADOES THIS YEAR. With some outstanding spotting (and gunsmithing) by Dave Crossno, Michael Jackson demonstrated his fine shooting skills and ruled the range to become Match Winner. He walked away with bragging rights and a Rolling Block rifle. Michael also had high chicken count of the match. Below is the full list of aggregate class winners. Thanks to Dave, Pam , and crew, for putting on one hella of a match! 56 shooters from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado + New Jersey! 7 Women 6 Juniors Day 1 Day 2 Total Match Winner: Michael Jackson 33 34 High Woman : Debbie Swenson 23 27 High Junior: James Lee 29 27 1st Master - Kelly McNitt 2nd Master - John Walters 3rd Master - Al Shackleford 1st AAA - Barry Miller 2nd AAA - Ritch Willis 3rd AAA - Hoot Stone 1st AA - Todd Tullio 2nd AA - Billy camp 3rd AA - Debbie Swenson IRON SIGHT; 29 24 30 28 30 28 27 22 23 32 31 21 30 26 28 24 28 27 1st Master - Dave Crossno 2nd Master - Kevin Griggs 3rd Master - Dan Zimmerman 1st AAA - Eric Smith 2nd AAA - Gary Menhusen 3rd AAA - Doug Lyle 1st AA - James Lee 2nd AA - Mason Haynes 3rd AA - Will Petrie SCOPE; 32 31 31 26 23 23 29 24 23 32 32 29 29 29 29 27 22 22 67 50 56 61 55 51 58 56 56 51 50 50 64 63 60 55 52 52 56 46 45 5 June 2014 Primer Report on 2014 OKCGC Election Results Dear Voting Members, This was the second year that we have been using the independent third party “Election Trust” to assist the club with administering the annual election. The official results of the election are presented below with the 7 candidates receiving the most votes being elected to the Board. Jim Fields Si Fentress New Director Buck Sifford New Director JR Hile New Director Jack Legg Kent Shomber Leon Strickland If you know or see any of the individuals who ran for a Board position please thank them for expressing an interest in devoting their time to help run the Club. It is only thru the dedication and contributions of people like these that the club is the tremendous success that it is. Before we allowed voting online or thru the mail only about 70 of 300 voting members would be able to take the time out of their busy schedules to attend the annual meetings. This resulted in the clubs Directors being elected by less than 25% of the members eligible to vote. By changing to an online/mail-in ballot system we have seen a dramatic increase in voting. Year Votes Cast % 2014 201 64% 2013 204 62% 2012 70 21% As you can see the increase has been dramatic, but it is still disappointing that nearly 40% of members eligible did not take the time to vote. In an attempt to increase voter participation the Board decided to give away 2 guns to voting members this year. One was a .223 AR-15 rifle which was awarded to a voting member who attended the annual meeting. The other was a .308 Rock River AR which was given to a voting member who actually voted. For 2014 the winner of the .308 rifle was selected from a listing of votes received and was awarded to Mr. Cecil M. If you know Cecil please help congratulate him on winning such a fine rifle and more importantly for participating in the process to elect the leaders of the club. On behalf of the entire Board, thank you for voting. Matt Johnson Treasurer 6 June 2014 Primer 7 June 2014 Primer Action Pistol Division The May IPSC match included 68 shooters, and our second match using all-electronic scoring. For this one, we abandoned paper altogether – no backup, which really felt strange! – just enrolling directly and paying the match fee. It worked out just fine and we were finished shooting by about 3PM. A few more lessons learned, but it’s clear we are getting this figured out. Overall, it’s a great experience – reduces errors, improves timely access to results, and more time to get out with the rest of the shooters. This month we held a Steel Challenge match concurrent with the ICORE match. The plan from now on is to hold a Steel Challenge match every month, and an ICORE match concurrently every other month. There is clearly a strong interest in the Steel Challenge activity. May 3-Gun results will be reported next month. There was no April 3-Gun match due to Land Run. Mark your calendars!! We have posted a match flyer and application on the website. Don’t wait too long to sign up. The new club house is coming along. Even though not complete, we used it for the Steel Challenge and ICORE matches. From now on, expect our matches to be run from there. Our next IPSC match will be June 7th. ALWAYS CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR LAST MINUTE UPDATES & SCORES. John Bent 8 June 2014 Primer AR Steel Challenge April and May Very windy conditions on Saturday still brought out many shooters for the April 26 AR Steel Challenge match. Greg Barnhart limped out to the bench from recent foot surgery to shoot a perfect 20x20 on the short course with his .223 right off the bat. Gordon Amini stepped up next and shot a clean 20x20 in under 60 seconds on the rapid fire short course to win that category with his trusty .223. Jim Fields didn't let the gusty winds bother him to win the long range course with 17x20 using his 6.5 Grendel. Total scores over the three courses of fire placed Jim Fields and Greg Barnhart in a tie for overall match win. In a five hundred meter shoot off, Jim edged out Greg to win the overall match. For the year, Jim Phillips and Mike Elston are tied for the lead - at 91 hits apiece. The AR Steel match is held the last Saturday of the month from March through September on the silhouette range. The competition is open to the public so everyone is welcome. $20 gets three entry cards for short, long and rapid fire AR competition with 20 rounds shot at each course. Any caliber AR is acceptable, sighters can be shot starting at 9am, so bring plenty of ammo! Great time for all. May Very nice weather conditions over Memorial weekend brought out several shooters for the May 24 AR Steel Challenge match. Dan Baily shot a perfect 20x20 score on the short course followed by another perfect 20x20 score from Glenn Blanton to set up a long range 500 meter shoot off. At 500 meters, Glenn barely edged out Dan with +4 hits to Dan's +3. Jim Fields showed everyone how to shoot long range with his trusty 6.5 Grendel by tying the long range course record with 19x20. Mike Elston won the rapid fire contest with a score of 17x20 in well under 60 seconds with his .223 on a bi-pod. Total scores over the three courses of fire placed Jim Fields in the lead for overall match win with a score of 53x60. For the 2014 season overall, Mike Elston has a two shot lead over Jim Fields with 141 to 139 hits respectively. The AR Steel Challenge match is held the last Saturday of the month (unless there is a conflict) from March through September on the silhouette range. The competition is open to the public so everyone is welcome. $20 gets three entry cards for short, long and rapid fire AR competition with 20 rounds shot at each course. Any caliber AR rifle is acceptable, and practice sighters can be shot starting at 9am, so bring plenty of ammo. The next AR Steel Challenge match has been moved up to June 21, we will see you then!
